Cinnamon Gold — Local services in Coventry

Overall unfortunately average and I would really question some of the over glowing reviews. Although our order is very English, we love our takeaways and have experienced a range of quality across the UK and it really didn't deliver. I very rarely leave average reviews.

Ordered a chicken tikka masala, prawn korma, garlic nan, peshwari nan and pilau + poppadoms.

To start with positives, the korma was good, fragrant, flavourful and the prawns were plentiful.

The CTM however was pretty bland as curries go. No real depth of flavour and no discernable spice. Really tasted more like a tomato sauce. The chicken tikka didn't really add much flavour either though again portion was good.

The nans were disappointing. Really lacking any flavour it was hard to tell them apart. They were rather soggy though appreciate its difficult to keep them - I would say overly doughy even so.

Given the positive reviews I was excited to try but was left rather disappointed. I think there are a lot of things that can be improved upon and although it's good value for money, that's not enough given the plethora of choices...

Great takeaway

Having tasted four curries now from the Cinnamon Gold I think I can write a review. We had Chicken Bhuna, Madras, Pathia and a Chicken Tikka Biryani with the sauce Madras hot. All four meals were excellent both in flavour and quality of chicken. My Biryani sauce was not Madras hot so this was the only downside, however as it was extremely busy due to an opening offer on that night was understandable. Delivery was prompt but that could be due to the fact this takeaway hasn't been bombarded with orders yet. Once it's recognised for its quality and quantity of food, then you will appreciate a wait for delivery. I can't fault the food, compared with Bombay Palace, Cinnamon Gold reaches much higher expatations. I would advise a taste trial. Half the price of other certain restaurant/takeaway's in...
