The Royal Bengal — Restaurant in Coventry

We visited on a Saturday evening so was expecting it to be busy. We had booked for 7.45 but the front desk had us down as 7.30, not an issue I would have thought, until we were told by some front of house staff in an abrupt manner, we were late and we had to wait now for the table. And so the wait began, after 45 minutes we were finally seated, drinks order taken after another 15 minutes with the food order being confirmed 10 minutes later. What we did start to notice, was that everyone was drinking but not many people were eating. We enquired about the progress of our order and was told 10-15 minutes to go, the staff apologised they were very busy and short staffed. We then asked again as a further 20 minutes had passed without our food, to be told that we would be waiting 15 minutes, which we were told previously. By this point we had been in the restaurant for almost two hours with only poppadoms to eat. We called it a night without our food and had a take out meal from McDonald's, which was served very quickly. To be fair to the staff they did reduce the bill for the drinks we had and did not charge us for the poppadoms. I was put off from the very start by the abrupt member of staff giving us a lecture about punctuality, then his establishment taking two hours of our time without any food. Would I...

Would give 0 if I could. Ordered vegan curry and was sent chicken. Staff refunded me eventually but first told me if I want replacement food I had to come and collect it (this after me paying almost £8 deliver for cold food on top of the fact it was chicken!) I had already waited an hour for this food.

The sides that came were watery, cold and bland.

Then one hour later, they used my card details that I gave him for a refund, to process a further payment of over £60 without my knowing. Owners (brothers) both heard discussing the fact they had done this even after they had denied all knowledge, all whilst I was on “hold”… both pretending they were the manager & not the owners but that it was a family business and they both owned it. Constantly lying. Fraudulent activity.

We had to visit the restaurant a lot but it went downhill. Recently came as a family again & food was great, but clearly a one off. Never again. I do not trust...

We ordered from Royal Bengal using Deliveroo on 15/09/18 and ordered the food to arrive at 20:30. Unfortunately the food arrived 20 minutes early (usually a good thing but the reason we ordered for 20:30 was because my other half wasn't due home until this time). This resulted in the food starting to go cold - not the end of the world as the food was still good. My biggest issue however, is that our rice was missing so my other half just had a plate of sauce. I tried to call the restaurant to have this rectified but no one answered the phone and I had to leave a voicemail. It's now two days later and no one has called me back. I have requested the cost of the rice (£3.25) to be refunded via Deliveroo so I know I will get it back but the fact remains that Royal Bengal sent out an incomplete order and are clearly not willing to...
