Concordia used to be such an amazing place but boy is it going down hill. I visit this place every week for my daughter’s swimming lesson so I’m not leaving this review on a whim. Every week I sit for half an hour looking around and feel so sad to see it deteriorating. First of all, the changing rooms are filthy, they smell worse than a urinal in a pub! I think it’s a cheek to ask people to remove their shoes when it’s so dirty. This is every week, and it’s been particularly bad during the heat waves we’ve had recently, the smell hits you like a brick wall as you open the door to enter. Bins are always overflowing. The toilets in the changing rooms, locks don’t work on doors, there’s always wet, dirty toilet roll on the floor and again, the smell is gross. The toilets near the gym, have taken my daughter in here multiple times after refusing to use the ones in the changing rooms and sadly they’re not much better. Dirty and so run down. No cleaner time board or anything like you would see in a lot of public use toilets. I’m guessing that’s because they’re not cleaned very often. The waiting area next to reception (behind the pool viewing area) I arrive most weeks to rubbish all over the tables and when I leave, that same rubbish is still sitting there and looking around there’s food crushed into the carpet, again no sign of cleaners/staff making any effort to keep the place clean. That same area, the viewing area glass is broken, I look at it every week and wonder how it’s been allowed to be left like that, the glass is so dirty aswell, not that that’s the end of the world but it’s such a shame to see the place looking so shoddy. My last mention would be the pool, sitting looking at it every week, the water sprinklers mustn’t work anymore as I’ve never seen them on for atleast a year, the refurb was so good when it was first done but it’s just been left with no upkeep. It’s such a shame. The floor around the pool looks so dirty/grubby. Positives are that the staff are lovely and my daughter really enjoys her swimming lessons! Sad to see Concordia replying to comments so clearly they’re aware but nothing seems to be being done.

Excellent leisure space for families! Clip n climb, soft play, cafe, swimming, bowling and a gym all under one roof. We went to soft play for an hour and a half(ish) before a quick refuel at the cafe and then a fun swimming session with music, floats and just mucking about on the splash pads. Little one didn't want to get out! There's ample parking outside, free for four hours with no return that day. Only thing I could fault, if I'm being really nit picky, is that the changing rooms were freezing! Not a deal breaker though, we kept our towel by the poolside to wrap the little one up after her shower. Would definitely recommend. **Just be sure to book online before you go as 'Places Leisure' is cashless and spaces for sessions are limited so book up quickly. Creating an online account is really quick and simple though. Don't forget a pound (returnable) for the locker if swimming!

I have lived in cramlington my whole life, luckily we still have our concordia leasure centre. A lot of other centres or pools closed down in area but ours managed to stay "afloat". Saying that though a new pool revamp would be great as it hasn't changed in 30 odd year. Has a great gym, clip and climb, soft play and bowling alley upstairs. Oh and a cafe of course, plenty for you or the family to do.

One star ONLY because I'm not allowed to give zero stars.

Some great facilities here, reasonable parking in a large shopping complex.

Clip n Climb is brilliant. However the contact and customer services is absolutely shocking bordering on incompetent. Looking through the comments I see that despite responses from the centre that things would improve - they have not.

I have a disappointed 4 year old who had been promised clip n climb or bowling and had been looking forward to it all week.

Extremely difficult webstie to navigate, page after page of pointless info and graphics but where are the opening times?, where are the prices? do you really only have one telephone (when I eventually found the number).

I was forced to register with active northumberland to book, when booking my child is now charged adult prices, when trying to book the bowling, I was forced to yet again register another log in.

Booking the bowling online takes 15 minutes, only at the end of it to find that 'system is undergoing updates, please try later' which seems to be going on for months.

Tried phoning, no answer, tried in the morning, in the afternoon, in the early evening. I'm absolutely astounded that these people are still in business, unbelievably bad website, impossible booking system, constantly 'being updated' and no answer to any telephone.

Its obvious from the other comment that these problems have been going on for over a year, despite 'assurances' from the management that they are being 'sorted' straight out of the 'Basil Fawlty' 'Gordon Brittas' school of mis-management. Some excellent facilities denied to most due to incompetence.

Active Northumberland? not at...

Editted version. Great for kids of all ages but could be just a little warmer for the smaller. Unfortunately I had started a referral scheme with Concordia the first time I went It was ok and got guidance the next time I had hurt my back and although there should have been somebody there there wasn't and I ended up leaving very disappointed. They then struck me off and lied about sending me emails. I showed them ALL emails and there was none from them so I had to get referred again. This time I couldn't go because my back was bad and not long ago I eventually got my operation that went well. I had email conversations and was told to just turn up when I was ready so I did today to be told it's full price £8 for an hour if I can manage that! Because the referral team aren't in! (I'm on the sick and suffering anxiety and depression just where do you think I'll get £8 from) It should be half price and even that's a struggle! This referral is supposed to be to help people living with depression and other health problems but you know what? They haven't got a clue how mental health problems work, they've got no idea of the struggles that people go through and they clearly don't give a damn either. I've left disappointed AGAIN. A complete waste of my time and tax payers money because even though I hadn't been for months because I was waiting on an operation they would still get paid for it. A disgusting...
