Don't know where to start. Once seated it took a while for someone to take drinks order, and even longer after that for someone to take mains order. Atleast while I was waiting I had the joys of listening to the music they had on, so loud that I practically had to shout to make my order and even worse to talk to the other 3 people with me. I'm not joking when I say the deff man eating in the subway 2 doors down could hear it, and i can imagine him being too happy that the first music he's heard in years was the awful stuff blasting from this place. A server brought food for another table to ours, and then had an attitude with us when we told her it wasn't ours, as if it was our fault that she read the table number wrong? Another fun thing was having members of staff shouting to eachother asking about shifts, across our table as one was on the upper level behind us and the other Infront of us. The one star that I have left for service and atmosphere are generous, as 0 would be far more fitting. As for the food, once it finally arrived to our table it wasn't even worth the wait. Sauce on the pastas was bland, flavourless even. And the two pizzas were so greasy, I even saw a pepperoni slice doing a belly slide like it was on a slip and slide. After only eating about a third to a half, the staff asked if we wanted them boxed up to take home, but I'd rather not waste the space in the kitchen bin. Didn't want to risk desert, can only imagine how awful that would've been. I will say however, the garlic bread was nice, so atleast they have that. Honestly, you're better off getting a footlong sandwich from the subway a couple doors down, atleast there you don't leave with your ears ringing. 1/10 overall, that 1 is purely because of the garlic bread. Don't eat here, its waste of your time, your money, and the lifespan of...
Read moreAlways go there. Never had any issues, get on with most of the staff there. Was told I needed ID which is fair enough then a friend that worked there told the other members off staff how she knew me and that I was of legal age to drink, me then thinking they were aware had a drink. Another member of staff snatched the drink from Infront of me and was really rude about the situation. I then paid for the drink my 19 year old boyfriend had and our two starters - I wasn't going to pay for the drink I didn't get and I hadn't Eaton my starter, so one drink and one starter was what we had, however I did leave £20 on the table which was more then enough for two drinks and two starters. The waitress who was rude before hand then followed us out and said we hadn't paid our bill as it was £40, we said it can't be we added up the prices of what we had and left more then enough money. She then refused to talk to us unless we came back inside to talk to the manager, so my boyfriend and I agreed. We came back in and the supposed manager had said because we had ordered two mains also, we had to pay for them as they were already cooked. We refued as we hadn't even been served the mains so why should we have to pay. I also pointed out how we weren't paying for the extra drink and then pointed out how I had worked in bars/pubs/restaurants that if another member of staff had seen ID and confirmed age, and other members of staff were aware of this they they can't be refused service. Thought it was so terrible of the staff to treat their customers that was, especially when we are regulars and none of this has ever happened before. So disappointed and won't be coming back after this....
Read moreOnly getting one star because I can't give no stars. Not advisable to have the middle-aged guy in the tacky gold Guccy shirt ‘working’ front of house. He was horrifically rude and bullying to a staff member, in front of and very within earshot of many customers. The staff member looked about 16 years old and was in tears. She was still visibly upset later, because he was continuing to be loud and aggressive to her. I mentioned it to the person who gave us our bill, only to be told he was the owner. In addition to the way he treated this young and vulnerable member of his staff, he was very loud, and had the staff running (actually running) in a restaurant full of customers trying to enjoy a meal). Carrying open flames (which I know is illegal because one of my friends got seriously burnt when they dropped a cake on her.) Our whole evening was ruined because of this guy. He created a hostile and unpleasant atmosphere. We left as soon as we could. No tip. Despite having good meals here in the past, with a nice welcoming atmosphere (in his absence), we definitely won’t be back. Someone should report this guy to the local trade union rep, or failing that, take him to an industrial tribunal. Bullying of employees is never appropriate and if he does this in public, I’d hate to see what he...
