Deception escape rooms is a fitting name for their rather deceptive customer service and policies. If you need to change the booking day, be prepared to be met by a nasty and unaccommodating customer service function.
Unfortunately due to a bereavement i was forced to rearrange the booking and informed Deception escape rooms well in advance of the day.
I subsequently spoke to Tina (appeared to be the owner) who advised me that that whilst I could not cancel the booking and claim a refund, i could however, choose an alternative date to which I agreed.
So once the dust had settled for the family bereavement, I contacted Tina for escape room availability on a specific date and time (2pm). I asked for 2pm availability though only 1pm was available so I informed her I would get back to her with further timings once Iāve confirmed with my friends.
A further few weeks had passed And I contacted Tina again and was met with some of the worst and rudest customer service I have ever received. It was truly diabolical.
She had completely misinterpreted my previous conversation and was extremely rude! She informed me that because I did not show up for a booking which I neither confirmed or cancelled (as I was simply trying to ascertain availability), that she could not offer me any more slots without paying additional amounts.
She then went onto lecture me about ādecencyā and ārespectā and I was amazed by the irony of her words considering the way she was communicating with me.
She incorrectly made the assumption that I had a booking and demanded further money without acknowledging she had misunderstood my emails and correspondence.
I was amazed at the level of disrespect and rudeness! I would recommend if anyone wants to try this service, be ready for their deception, lying and cheating ways to swindle money off customers!
I have reported the interaction to consumer act to contact them regarding this poor & deceptive approach and contacted my bank to retrieve the money too.
EDIT: Reply to customer service - For avoidance of doubt, only one booking was ever made. The subsequent booking was never confirmed. There was never a āthird bookingā. Deception customer service continues to deceive and lie.
EDIT: just got refunded from my bank! Just shows that deception escape rooms; was deceptive even in the text messages I provided as evidence. I hope they can take this valuable lesson and act fair, just and respectfully to...

The level of detail that has gone into creating the rooms is brilliant!! From the decor to each elaborate puzzles, which each had been thought out to fit the room and some were very unique. The pure genius and cleverness that has gone into creating these rooms is a must!
Today we did trapped and scarytale. We really enjoyed our experience in the rooms, even though trapped was quite a lot scarier and more "atmospheric" than one of usĀ expected! It was worth it and brilliant trying to solve the room and get out and theĀ atmosphereĀ just added to the experience!
Scarytale was such a good room with so many logic puzzles, different areas andĀ jump scares that ran smoothly and made the room super enjoyable.Ā It really is one of the best rooms we've done in a while!
The staff member that hosted our room was so lovely and friendly! And didn't mind talking tonus afterwards!
We've booked in to do jilted in a fortnight and know we are in for a treat.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe best day ever. We did the Scary- tale Room, it was fantastic I have never pooped myself so much and laughed at the same time with fear. Brilliant one to do. Our granddaughter was good with the clocks and Nannie grandad didn't do to bad with clues. ( I don't want to give to much information away would spoil it for everyone but worth the money,. Staff absolutely brilliant they must of had really good laugh. I think I did a small summersault in one of the rooms so funny. Overall we shall be going back definitely without a doubt. Thank to staff for making it a brill day. OH!! I don't want to forget that at the very beginning before we went into the rooms, one of the Ladieswho runs the Deception rooms tied myself and my grandaughter together with two pieces of rope. Let's see how long it takes you to get out...
