The food was good (as usual) but the organisation of the place was so bad it was laughable. When you try to book for a meal here during the festive period you are informed they aren't doing the usual a la carte menu, and instead have a Xmas Menu and a Seasonal Menu. All fine so far. Then they send you these menus and ask for our order (several days before you dine), wanting all course choices AND payment in full before you even step through the door. When I asked why, the answer was ..."because it's Christmas". Fine. Odd, but fine, I thought. They must be very busy I thought! The day after I'd received the menus by email, sought all the party's food choices, phoned Genting for the second time, passed on the order and paid the bill, I received a voicemail from them asking if I could call them again and give them our order again as they'd "shredded it". Instead I emailed them the full order so they had it electronically and couldn't as easily dispose of it again. In that email I took the opportunity to request a booth and to ask if they could do cheese and biscuits for the diabetic diner in the party who hadn't ordered a sweet from the Xmas or Seasonal menu because, unlike the usual a la carte menu, they currently weren't offering any diabetic friendly alternative. I sent the email on Friday lunchtime for our booking on Sunday evening. I never heard back from them. When we arrived to dine they had our order in the restaurant but apparently had no knowledge of the email I'd sent two days earlier and we only managed to beg a cheese and biscuits out of the kitchen because another diner on a different table had pre-ordered some and so chef was magnanimously going to extend that kindness to us too. All of this may have made a bit more sense if the place was jam packed with diners and not the total of 12 people who are there during the entire evening.
