Played Freshwater Bay golf club today, have driven past numerous times and even walked up Tennison previously. We booked by phone as they do issue playing times to players, so don't just turn up expecting to play. Our green fee was inexpensive with our County card £22 each and £10 for electric trolley (recommended). The golf course is situated on the south side of the Isle of Wight, on top of high cliffs. If you see the photos there are spectacular views from any point of the golf course. The tee area's were all in good condition as were the fairways especially considering the drought conditions we endured this summer. The greens and surrounds were exceptional good coverage of thick healthy grass, the greens weren't particularly fast today but played very consistent with a true roll. Read morePlayed Freshwater Bay 3 times on our recent holiday to the IOW. The course offers incredible views of the island and the mainland. It is also a fabulous test of golf. Hanging lies and undulating greens. Not a long course but an addictive one!
