As a wheelchair user I found this store easy to navigate. The aisles were wide enough to pass other people. It wasn't overly busy and most areas were well stocked. Any staff on the shop floor filling shelves were working neatly and with minimal disruption. Staff I engaged with were helpful and friendly. At the check out I couldn't reach to put my shopping onto the conveyer belt or reach to pack my own shopping. As I had a carer with me on this occasion this wasn't an issue as my carer did this for me although I would have preferred to do this myself. Where is the lowered check out, we looked and couldn't find it, did we miss it!? I don't think we did!? Why five stars then I hear you ask? The person on the till was so helpful, listened and didn't dismiss my concern he showed me how to feedback my thoughts on a survey online and reassured me of help from staff in store if needed. This along with my other points made my shopping experience a positive one. I will feedback to Aldi regarding a lowered till area and conveyor belt for those customers who may struggle to reach the higher ones. Whilst I in no way expect everything to be perfectly adapted to suit each and every need for everyone wherever I go I do hope for the best to ensure we can all use the service with the minimum issues possible. As this is a very new store perhaps a little more thought when planning the check out area would have been useful and that is the feedback I intend to pass on to Aldi...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo i went to do some shopping this morning with my mrs and i had some old bags from Aldi which i always take along to pack our items. When it got to our turn to make payments, the teller after a minute called me ( in a way i found discriminatory based on tone and body language ) to see what was in my empty bags. āLet me check this one, let me check that oneā went ahead to sort of open the bag. How this felt! This was a pure case of unconscious bias, person profiling, discrimination and utmost disrespect. I have been shopping in Aldi for a long time and never for once had I being subjected to this kind of what i will call unfortunate happening. I understand that this could be part of doing your checks/job but could there be some decorum attached to it, couldnāt it have been done better? I spoke to the manager available then, she appeared to be worse than the teller. I had to insist to get what appears to be āa sorryā of convenience . I didnāt see other people being asked that their empty bags be checked or treated this way. Im absolutely appalled! If this rating had a negative star, that would have been what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDiscriminating rude security staff that will approach people of specific race and think they are stealing whilst just carrying an ALDI bag shopping around. I have been approached by this staff to carry a basket and have to tell him off and show him what is inside my bag which is my kids gloves and my hat. Nothing from ALDI is in my ALDI bag.I wasn't even carrying anything in the shop when he approached me as my basket was on the floor heavy, with my kids around it. He didn't stop there. He told me to shop with a basket. And slammed to his face, pointed to him my basket was there on the floor. This was the same person months ago on the exit that I have to call his attention because he was on his phone, that a man not my colour took cans of beer by the entrance and exited the main entrance. And that person that actually shoplifted, he allowed to run away! Your security staff manning the doors and watching the cctvs are useless! Did not even apologise! I am a regular shopper and won't be anymore! Disgusting staff and treatment! You...
