Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

Terrible experience. I have just come out and my day is absolutely ruined, and I am shaking. As I am medically vulnerable this is not cool. I didn’t get the coffee I paid for in the end or even a refund. This is all for asking specifically for a proper cup when I ordered as they were doing takeaway cups only. I was happy to walk out and go elsewhere because of this but I thought I might as well put in a request for a proper cup. After all they could easily say no, and I’d have been happy with that and gone elsewhere. For reasons I won’t bother you with this is important to me, not to mention the environmental concern of only using disposable cups when they don’t have to and there were plenty of cups of the size I wanted available. To my delight and surprise, they said yes! I could see there was a long wait, so used the 20 minutes waiting time to help them clear tables, as I could see they were struggling with how busy it was. But then when it was my turn, they changed their mind and told me I could have a takeaway cup or a refund. I asked for a refund which really angered them. So I calmly tried to explain exactly what had happened, but before I knew it the situation had escalated way out of proportion, staff and other customers being rude and aggressive to me, calling me selfish, swearing and shouting at me, even threatening to call the police. I must reiterate, I remained calm and polite throughout.. I literally stood there gobsmacked. I had remained calm throughout, was just trying to gently get my point across. I left in the end, as they were threatening to call the police and that would’ve wasted more of my time and no doubt would’ve got them in trouble, as there would be plenty of CCTV evidence of my story being true. I have complained to costa about this and as of 3 days later, have not even had a reply. Rude staff!! I asked for red shimmer chocolate curls on top of my ruby hot chocolate, once the women said "Idk what you are saying" and turned her back on me instead of apologising or asking me again what I want. Second time I went to the same branch and I asked for it, the other staff said, "we dont give chocolate curls with hot chocolate" which is not true, when i get it from other branches they always serve me with whipping cream and chocolate curls on top without me having to ask for it! Me and my partner ordered coffee and a sandwich each. Did they get the order right. No! We received no coffees and a totally different order. How can people not do their jobs right. The delivery driver was useless, totally uneducated and not helpful when it comes to his job. Kept telling us this was our order which it wasn’t! What is wrong with people!
