Our iPad trade in offer experience was awful. A very long story short we called to confirm offer and details, âif itâs working you will get at least ÂŁ50 trade inâ, we then drove 45miles to the nearest store (Shrewsbury), it took a very long time to get anyone to pay attention to us, the staff member seemed very frustrated and said he only works 25 hours so they donât train him on any of the new offers so he needed to get advice as he had no idea of the rules, he struggled to find anyone that could give him the advice he needed, they took my iPad for inspection, they returned my iPad to me totally wiped restored to factory settings and told me because of the two (5mm maximum) dents to the corner, it was worth ÂŁ5. Even though it was fully working and passed the software checks etc. I asked them to restore my iPad to how it was as I didnât know how to and Iâd been in store about 45mins already to be told it was worth ÂŁ5. They told me it would cost around ÂŁ30 to reinstate my iPad!!. I didnât give permission for them to blank it but they said it was policy, even though I wasnât told prior to them doing it. I asked for the manager who was sarcastic and unprofessional and borderline passive aggressive. We did not raise our voices or get angry we just asked questions like âif a dent means itâs worth ÂŁ5 why did they proceed to wipe itâ âwhy werenât we asked if it was ok to wipe it firstâ and âwe were told on the phone if itâs working then itâs worth at least ÂŁ50â etc, the manager said they wipe them first, check the software and then check for damage, which to us seemed ridiculous to do it in that order. He said he classed it as ânot workingâ because of these tiny dents! We really felt for the staff (the store was empty) many seemed very unhappy, frustrated, unmotivated, unsupported by management and poorly trained. Having witnessed the attitude of the manager we spoke to, no wonder they have such a high...
Read moreIt's the 3 day that I'm spending at home waiting for a delivery, and suddenly now is out of stock.
The first day they gave me a delivery window, so I waited for the item. The item was not delivered so I called them and after 40 minutes waiting I got to speak with someone that assured me the item had leaved the depot and that the driver was not answering, so they didn't know were it was. That is fine (I thought), as there are things they cannot control. The second day I called first in the morning, and then at 5pm asking for my item. In both occasions they told me my item was on its way, due to arrive that same day, but that the delivery driver was catching up with the delivery of the day before, so it was expected to be late. Nothing arrived. The third day, after calling and waiting on the phone, finally someone confirms that they don't have the item in stock, and that I have spend my last 2 days waiting for nothing.
It seems to me that basically their customer service just try to pass the ball to the next one, knowing that they are not going to be hold responsible for it. At the same time, the waiting time on the phone (about 4 hours in the last 3 days) shows an obvious lack of personnel at their side, not ready for the extra work they need to do in Christmas period (that also matches with the "passing the ball" attitude).
In short, if you are planning to order something from them, please be aware that if everything goes well fine, but if not, you will be dealing with a very poor customer service, with low capacity of response and without any idea of what is going on with your order (or with not problem of...
Read moreCurry's PC World reviews are literally the most inaccurate reviews I've ever seen on this platform so I feel like I have to write one that's actually related to the store itself and not about something unrelated:
The customer service is always great, and you can get access to a reasonable amount of options when it comes to choosing what you want to buy. The staff are able look up any publicly known information about most of the products they sell so don't be scared to ask questions.
However I need to mention that Curry's PC World do NOT manufacture any of the computer related products they sell like laptops, printers and desktop computers. it's genuinely VERY cruel to place poor reviews based on things they cannot control.
I really need to explain that Staff WILL point out to you that the cheapest laptop in the store is half the product than the one that's just ÂŁ100 more, right next to it. It's literally YOUR fault if you ignore them.
The amount of "1* I didn't even go here" reviews this place has is actively crippled the average ratings of this place too. it's seriously very messed up to do this. If you didn't go inside the store don't write a review, it's not that hard. I don't care if Google asks you to write a review about a store you only walked past, they only ask you to do it ONCE and they never ask again until you return to the stores area.
Trust me, when it comes to reviews on Maps, sort by "most liked" or "most helpful" and not by most recent, it will save a lot of headaches.
This place is sound. The reviews are...
