Wow! As a first time visitor, I found this shopping park to be absolute madness. After turning in from the A96, I was looking to try and decide which way to go as the next roundabout is only perhaps 70 or 80 yards in, and I was very conscious of the cars behind me. I could see Tesco on the left, so decided to go right into the main area of the car park and was able to drive far enough along to look and SSE the shop we wanted.so off we went to it. There were at least plenty of disabled parking spaces outside the shops, and I had no problem getting one. It was probably because it was Saturday, but the whole place was heaving! Once they had finished there visit to the shop, we decided on a quick visit to Tesco for sandwiches, juice and crisps, but it took about 10 minutes or so to get reversed out of the space. We have to go nose in as both my wife and I need wheelchairs. I was a bit surprised to be honest, most places, someone will stop and let you out even if they don't neen your space, but here that kind of politeness doesn't seem to be on their agenda. But we eventually got across to Tesco, and unfortunately, met the same problem trying to reverse there. Before leaving the space, I got my phone out and checked for the best way out on Google maps, and it was showing a connecting route from the car park to the inner roundabout. Great thought I, and headed there. Only to find it was a no entry from the car park. I pulled into the side to check and alternative route, and noticed a couple other cars had clearly thought the same as me. Come on Google, get that updated! So I had to drive up to the road running past Tesco's, and was stuck there in a queue, slowly going down, for a further 25 minutes. So overall, the shops were fine, no problem there. The car park was appalling. Poor signage, very limited entry and egress, and the other drivers seem very unforgiving. But given the poor design of the car park, I have to admit I find it hard to blame other drivers for wanting to take any opportunity to get...
Read moreAs TESCOs go, this one is a shiny temple of consumerism. Apparently, there are eight Tescos in Inverness. Eight? Are you freaking kidding me? We found this one en route to our hotel and boy were we lucky. Superb range, especially in the vegetarian and vegan aisles. Imagine big manga tears rolling down our cheeks because we were on holidays and couldn't buy all the stuff that our local Tesco Extra just doesn't have. We hadn't booked breakfast at the hotel and decided to come back to the café in the morning. Good food, reasonable price, and my notoriously fussy vegan daughter bought her breakfast in the shop and brought it through (sorry, I know you're not supposed to do that). Shiny, bright, clean, enormous temple of consumerism....
Read moreDecent town , not many up to date shops though.a majority of shops visited somehow needs to have a get together and teach each other the art of smiling and not made to feel judged?! Don't give up as times change and it's all on line shopping and we wouldn't want that to take over our future ,get back fighting and show world that this wee town is simply beautiful, oh and please sort the flipping roads in town out... ,and build another place for the taxis who seem to have run of every parking spot and turning around on the main street when suits them! Lastly make more spaces for the disabled (limited ) think thats it...but someone has to speak up. Overall quaint place if you know...
