We have just been on Halloween evening to the event, and we also attended the Christmas trail last year. We do love it here and it's definitely worth doing, however certain tweaks would take this place to an excellent review from everyone! And more importantly continue returning customers.
Firstly the differences between last year and this - I think when family rickets are around Β£70+ it seems quite OTT to start charging 3-4Β£ for parking which we didn't have to do last time. Also the add ons are increasing more and more. The owl at the event having to pay Β£5 per picture for a child to stand with it seems really odd when you've paid for the event (totally understand making extra cash through food/drink/fair ground type work/rides/toys and lights that can be purchased) but add ons for things like that just seem abit too far. Furthermore Β£5 for a hot chocolate that the cup holds about 100ml again very OTT. And Β£4 for a stick of 4 small marshmallows is basicslly the price of 4 bags! At knowlesey safari light trail they let everyone who enters have 1 free marshmellpw to roast and its a reallt nice touch. There was also large pizzas available for around Β£20. I do think for people to keep returning these things do need to be reviewed. people who return will just bring their own snacks or drinks to avoid the prices I'd imagine!
The event itself is fantastic.. the actors are so committed to their roles. It's such a lovely family experience and creates lots of memories. Really good having all the photo stop opportunities too. I have to say all the actors where so thoughtful with younger children too and adapted (without breaking character) how to interact which I thought was great. Everyone seemed so lovely and happy to be there, much praise for this!
I do think the Halloween trail was missing a little "finale" as such. You're basically finished when you get to the food bit and it felt like there was building to a little section at the end to be an amazing cherry on top ! but thats only my opinion :) as I say it's a great event. (Even if I'm bitter than I missed the hocus pocus sisters ha ha ha).
Overall thanks for a great night. I really hope they consider price changes of extras etc I think it is getting abit silly and would definitely encourage more spending if it wasn't like that, and parking should really...
Β Β Β Read moreThe Halloween Magical Woodland in Northwich is an unforgettable experience that blends dazzling visuals, spooky fun, and a fantastic atmosphere for all ages. From the moment you step onto the woodland trail, youβre transported into a world of glowing pumpkins, eerie mist, and mesmerising lights that turn the forest into a Halloween dreamland.
The real star of the show is the incredible light installations. Trees glow in deep oranges, purples, and greens, pathways are lined with twinkling lanterns, and fog effects create an ethereal, ghostly feel. Walking through the light tunnels and watching the synchronised displays set to eerie music makes for a breathtaking experience.
One of the standout aspects of the event is the costumed actors roaming the woodland. From the mischievous Beetlejuice, cracking jokes and interacting with guests, to the delightfully deadpan Wednesday Addams, these characters add so much personality to the experience. They arenβt just posing for pictures; they fully embrace their roles, making for some hilarious and slightly spooky encounters.
Towards the end of the trail, the inviting smell of fresh food fills the air. The selection is excellent, with everything from loaded hot dogs to stone-baked pizzas, perfect for warming up on a crisp autumn night. The hot chocolate, complete with marshmallows and cream, is a must-try and adds to the cozy, festive vibe. Fire pits are available for toasting marshmallows, making for a fun little break before continuing the adventure.
Atmosphere & Family-Friendliness While there are a few light scares along the way, this event strikes a perfect balance between spooky and fun. Itβs not too intense for kids, but it still has enough eerie effects to keep adults entertained. The organisers have clearly put a lot of thought into making this a magical experience rather than just a haunted attraction, which makes it a great choice for families.
The Halloween Magical Woodland is a beautifully crafted event that delivers on both atmosphere and entertainment. Whether youβre there for the stunning visuals, the hilarious character interactions, or the delicious food, itβs a Halloween treat thatβs well...
Β Β Β Read moreTo begin the walk was pretty average but lights progressively got better witch was positive by the end they were actually really cool my son loved them and so did the baby Iβd recommend going for the lights but the rest ruined it a bit, nearly half way around unfortunately the elf cosplay man who sounded a lot like elf but looked nothing like him had been put at a part in the lights trail that was very close to the talking tree what gathered a crowd and with a very tight walk way between it all which you couldnβt see round the corner meant you had to cue up for elf unknowingly for 45 minutes in the rain just to get round the corner to the front of the cue to realise you donβt want to be in the line and you could have just walked past but couldnβt because there was no room! Mrs clause and the transformer who to both be there made no sense like pick a theme but anyway they spent so long with each child to see them you were expecting a hour + wait time in the freezing rain , We seen some very unenthusiastic cast members on a boat who were very miserable actors, supported by elf eventually which made no sense being in a pirate ship my son was so confused, the food was nice but overpriced and sold out at the end unfortunately even though a lot of people still wanted serving, also no toilets other than the one at the beginning and no clear directions at all, also a private party was going on witch was weird because they all had alcohol but we couldnβt have any there was no stands for us adults to...
