The Jade Buddha — Restaurant in England

My husband and I went with my parents on fathers day. We booked a table for the Sunday. We had the Sunday special which was £9.80 per person, and consisted of chicken and sweet corn soup although I paid £1.00 extra for hot and sour - both soups were beautiful. Then the starters were two wings each which were beautiful light and crispy a couple of ribs each, seaweed, prawn wonton each - plenty to go around and very tasty. We then had a choice of mains ( plenty to choose from) I had beef in black bean sauce which was delicious the group also had Chinese curry and a pork dish. . . All of these meals were gorgeous and we served with egg fried rice. The size of the dishes were quite big and we were unable to eat all our food. All of the dishes were beautiful and tasty. I will definitely be returning here as the staff were lovely and professional offered breaks inbetween the foods and making sure we were all happy etc. I'm not going to lie I was a little worried about trying here as there were some negative reviews about being rushed and what not BUT they were completely wrong as jade buddha was well worth the visit and we will be returning again....

Found our waitress very rude! When looking to order drinks the menu was snatched from us and we were told we having Chinese lager. Felt that we were being spoken at instead of spoken too. Didn't listen correctly for meal orders. We waited a long time for starters and other people were getting there starters before we got ours and they came after us. Waited 40 mins for starters and only half of them arrived and then we had to wait again for the other orders to be told that we ordered wrong not that she didn't take the orders! Hassled to order more drinks while they served others. Food finally arrived 2 hours after seating and my food was awful! We had to wait for someone to actually come to us so we can pay. And they the bill was wrong over charged us...and over priced for the food and service we got. Will not...

Went for lunch to celebrate my nephews birthday,there were ten in the party, we were on the Sunday set buffet menu, the food was very average and very small portions, however the service was appalling, one of the waitresses was very very rude and made us feel very unwelcome. The service throughout the meal was poor and it really felt that everything was a chore to the staff.

My 13 year old daughter only ate a very small part of her main course, I asked if they could possibly put the remaining food in a take away box so she could take it home, they refused to do so.

Apparently it's the restaurant policy not to do doggy bags.

I'm a big fan of Chinese food and visit many different restaurants, however this is probably the worst one I've had the misfortune to use. Definitely would...
