⛳ Hornsea Golf Club – A Hidden Gem on the East Coast I recently had the pleasure of playing Hornsea Golf Club, and it’s safe to say I’ll be back. The layout is a real treat — with a great mix of challenges and scenic flow. Each hole feels distinct, yet the course maintains a lovely rhythm that keeps you engaged from tee to green. The greens were in excellent condition: true, consistent, and well-paced. Whether you're lining up a birdie putt or scrambling to save par, they reward a confident stroke. Beyond the course itself, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you feel at ease, whether you're chasing a low score or just soaking in the surroundings. Hornsea offers that rare blend of playability and character — a course that’s enjoyable for all levels but still keeps you thinking. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a quality round in East Yorkshire. A proper coastal classic.

Great golf course and a hidden gem, in my opinion! First couple of holes ease you in then you play a great par 5 and 4 before the rest of the front nine being a mix of holes - long and short. The next par 5 (7th?) is well framed by gorse bushes and then there are some lovely tree lined holes that have that inland links feel. Back 9 had some excellent holes and a couple of well designed, tree lined and bunkered par 4s had me thinking of forest pines or even Formby. Greens were really good and rolled out well. Hornsea has a really nice traditional clubhouse, and staff and members we met were friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money.

Day 2 of our Tour. This was a step up from yesterday. A longer course larger and faster greens. Wide fairways. Everything was in spristine condition. The 2nd cut was deep enough for your ball to sink into and strong enough to make an escape difficult. Undulating fairways was taken to a different level. I'm sure it is a throwback to a time when the strategy was used to stop small aircraft from landing. It didn't spoil our enjoyment but added another element of difficulty. The Pro shop was helpfully efficient and friendly.

We played here today in a Men's Open Team Event. It was our first time playing Hornsea and we only decided to play after we'd heard the great reviews on the club from members at our clubs and my work. If anything what we'd been told about the club, it's members, the course and clubhouse was an underestimation... We were blessed with awesome weather and great company. The course is a lovely design which flows and offered a challenge to each of us as individuals and as part of the team. Well done Hornsea! A great day made even better by the hospitality offered by club...
