I was really looking forward to trying this place, as it's very difficult to find halal Mexican food. It's in the Batley plaza, close to Sibu and Chickanos. I really wanted to like it, and I was very fortunate to get 20% off as England were playing in the World Cup that day. We ordered the signature tacos, mac n cheese, fries, tenders, and 2 chicken burgers. The first burger was lovely, with a creme sauce. Lovely and fresh. The tenders were fresh and nice. Great selection of menu items / burgers - affordable pricing / get what you pay for; the 'Quesabirria Tacos' (look better on a plate eat in 😅), 'Chicken Connoisseur - Burger' and 'Chicken Tenders (x10)' are always a hit for us, tasty and filling; standard chips are good quality 🤤

Read moreNow, where to start? I have been following many different places in America that serve this type of food and I always wanted to try birria. As per conversation with the owner, it turns out there isn't many places around that make such thing, at least not in Gloucester, Birmingham or Manchester, at not to such amazing quality. We've had food from Papi Queso before and I must say, every time we do, it is an fantastic experience. Everything is made fresh and using authentic ingredients, meat is slow cooked for 24h and has absolutely stellar flavour. Perfectly seasoned, juicy and tender, literally to die for. All birria tacos come garnished with freshly chopped onions and cilantro as well as a wedge of lime for extra zesty kick. Every taco meal comes with home made fries that are also beautifully seasoned and compliment the whole experience. Papi Queso is definitely not one to miss and if you are in the area or not, get yourself in the car, make the journey and experience authentic Mexican food that will leave you...
