The Kegworth Fish Bar — Local services in North West Leicestershire

Regular customer but VERY disappointed that chip portion size has been slashed, and I mean SLASHED!! "Small" is now down to the size of a "Cone" (if not smaller!). When I queried it - thought he may have misheard me - response was that they haven't put their prices up but have cut the portions instead "it's happening all over the country". Took a picture when got home, shame can't post it on here so you can judge for yourselves... I asked what size a "Cone" portion would be - simply replied "smaller than that" - the mind boggles!! - wouldn't be worth dirtying the paper I suspect. Fact is: I used to get two meals out of the usual portion and planned on doing that for tomorrow... I have just eaten the new portion and am still hungry! Sorry for rambling - never write a review when you are hungry!!! (P.S. The only thing saving it from a sad 1-star is that the food is nice, for what there was of it) Won't be enough to keep my regular custom though if I find the chippy down the round hasn't heard of what's happening in the 'rest of the country') Biggest saddest...

Terrible food! Cod n chips with no actual cod inside the rock hard batter. Nothing on display or even offered too see and check your food before quickly wrapped. Very SLY! And the cheeseburger and chips with the burger uncooked raw pink in the Center. I am personally offended by this tonight. This is no award winning standard food. Absolutely the worst cod n chips we have ever purchased. As for the burger that’s just a complete uncooked mess I’m disgusted and threw the lot in the bin. £11.40! Completely wasted. I will not come back ever again! Disgusted...

We have used this Fish Bar from the day it opened and I have to say we can't buy your battered food now...since you previous guy doing the frying left a year or more ago the batter is awful, its always sticky and soggy, we have not had crispy batter in as long as we can remember...we love this place and don't want to use the new chippy but come on guys train your batter man on how to batter fish it's just not what you are about we know you can do better...
