Great food here, a great chef making everything from scratch at very reasonable prices...we tried deep fried brie, luxurious prawn cocktail, fresh battered fish, chips and mushy peas and an anchor burger with pulled pork, what's not to like...we arrived on a Wednesday, student night I think, a little noisy but we just moved inside where it was quiet. We received a lovely welcome from the owner and the young team supporting him, staff were very enthusiastic but need a bit of time to develop their knowledge and rhythm waiting on tables of food while the pub is busy. We've already booked for Sunday dinner....looking forward to it.

We had cajun chicken burger(proper cajun spiced chicken aswel non of this off the shelf rubbish) and pie of the day/week (steak and ale) for lunch, absolutely wonderful could not fault a single thing about either of them!! The owners are brilliant, so full of life, fun and lovely chat!! If you're in the area it's definitely worth a visit 👌 (bad lighting on the picture but I just couldn't not share how lovely it looked)

Cozy pub with great food. Looking for a pub/restaurant near East Midlands airport, as I was dropping family around 5ish, we found this…and we were extremely satisfied! Food was fantastic, delicious. One of the best Sunday roasts I had lately. Service very friendly. If you have a chance, I’d highly recommend it. And you can walk around before/after near the riverside.

Firstly, important to say this is being written late August 2023. Things can change quickly in the pub trade!

Great to see this traditional pub still trading and offering food. I'm told (but haven't first hand experience) that Sunday lunches here are superb and the pub is busy. Meals are also served evenings.

I visited a Thursday afternoon for a swift pint. Only 2 other customers who soon left so the pub was very quiet indeed lacking atmosphere. However I was made very welcome by the bar guy and my pint of real ale was good value and nice tasting. Front door was open, music playing but 2 signs in same front window - one stating open the other closed!

I'd passed by a previous Tuesday when the pub was still closed at 3pm. When I asked about opening times the answer was vague - basically variable between about noon and 2pm weekdays. In my view sticking to published opening times is an absolute must to avoid customer dissatisfaction. It will build regular trade in the long term.

To conclude I wish the owner and staff well. They have a nice village pub which deserves to succeed but need to...

Shambles. Booked for Sunday lunch at 12:00, admittedly we were a tad late arriving at 10 past, but staff arrived to unlock the pub shortly after we turned up! After being sat down while the lights were turned on and the pub was opening, we were served drinks and told that in fact the chef was busy doing other jobs, and no food would be served until 1:30 at the earliest. There was a single poor girl working who had been stitched up with no other staff on site to help her out. She was very polite and handled the situation to the best of her abilities, but why advertise 12-5 Sunday lunch when doors open at 12:15 and chef arrives at 1:30! At least we were told once he arrives the food shouldn’t take long, as it’s all cooked earlier in the week and simply reheated!!!! I’m not usually one to leave a review, but our weekend to Kegworth has been completely let down as we drive home this afternoon, stopping for a McDonald’s to fill...

Bit loud and brash with no substance. The staff were shouting, don't know weather this was due to the masks or the volume of the music either way totally spoilt any atmosphere for a sit down meal. The table's were not cleaned in between customers. The menu was vast and varied and to start off we thought it was going to be a nice meal out. The landlord was saying all the right things, telling us about all the covid precautions put in place, the menu looked good. So we placed our order. Our burgers were mixed up and the bins were soggy. Got the potential to be a nice place to eat, just needs a little fine tuning. They also offer a delivery service or a pickup similar to click and collect. We are are more cauatious then most as I have to provide care to two vulnerable family members so won't be going back. But will try the pub again once the...
