Fantastic beach, small and welcoming, part of the national trust so well maintained. Parking is paid for for national trust members via their cards and Jo public have to pay anything up to £8 for the day. Toilets are on site but not great, may wife said they were usable if you really needed. There is a small shop for the much needed ice cream selling Kelly's, food also available during the day up until 16:30hrs. Good choice too. There is a stream that runs off the hillside and runs into the sea so kids can be found trying to dam this up, hours of fun. When the tide is out the sea is really calm, once in it gets a little more exciting, we had an on shore wind so the sea was slightly rough. When the tide is low you can have a good long walk along the beach to Carne beach also national trust, but be sure to return before the tide comes in otherwise you have to take the coastal path...

There are clean toilets but otherwise facilities seem limited - bring your own drinks, mini barbecue etc.
Ideal for couples, families with small children and mature people who just want peace and quiet. Noisy groups will probably...

Revisited May 2023 and little has changed. With the tide out its the biggest and best beach in the area. The walk up the valley behind the beach is a delight and the cafe serves good coffee
If I have a complaint it's that the only bin is way above the cafe so a long walk from the car park. What happened to encouraging us to put things in bins? For me it loses a...
