Widemouth Beach in Cornwall, UK, is a rock enthusiast's paradise! Nestled along the stunning coastline, this beach boasts an incredible variety of rocks in all shapes, sizes, and colors imaginable. From striped marvels to marbled wonders, and from perfectly round to uniquely shaped specimens, the diversity of rocks here is simply mesmerizing.
As someone who adores collecting unique and special rocks, I was thrilled to discover Widemouth Beach at low tide. My friend and I spent hours combing through the pebbles and small rocks, each one more captivating than the last. We marveled at the intricate patterns, the vibrant hues, and the sheer beauty of nature's artwork.
What's even more exciting is that we didn't just collect rocks; we turned them into rock art! With such an abundance of inspiration at our fingertips, creativity flowed freely as we crafted unique pieces to treasure forever.

Read moreWidemouth Bay is one of my favourite beaches in Cornwall, especially for dog walking. At low tide, you can walk all the way over to Black Rock, which is a lovely scenic route for both dogs and their humans. The beach is clean, spacious, and offers a real sense of freedom, even in the busier summer months.
It’s also a fantastic spot for surfing, swimming, and bodyboarding. The waves are usually consistent, and it’s popular with both beginners and more experienced surfers. During the summer, the sunsets here are absolutely stunning - definitely one of the best places in Bude to watch the sun go down.

Overall, Widemouth Bay offers everything you’d want from a Cornwall beach day - dog-friendly, great for outdoor activities, and breathtaking views. Highly recommend for locals and...

We've been here on several occasions and the best time of year is definitely out of season; February, early March and early September through October. Avoid Bank Holidays and the Summer: it's hell.
Dogs are banned on the beach between 15th May and 30th September, 10AM to 6PM. Sadly many people ignore the no dog dates and times as no one enforces the rules. In high season there are little 'presents' all...
