Widemouth Bay Cafe — Restaurant in England

Very Disappointing! Dec 2022 Walked in to lots of dogs barking away very loudly and aggressively at one another. This cafe is really small and would benefit from a No Dogs Allowed policy. You don't really expect noisy dogs yapping away for ages in a small eating establishment. My children were frightened. My coffee was good. However I ordered tea - Iwas presented with a dirty teapot and dirty cup. The teapot was filled to the top with hot water and only one teabag floating in it. Undrinkable. We were excited to try the pancakes which were beyond disappointing. They were TINY! And the icecream just made the pancakes super soggy straight away! The food seemed really bad quality like out of a packet from the supermarket and put on a plate. Staff seem inexperienced and uninterested. Views over the beach are brilliant. Located just off the main widemouth beach this little cafe has hot drinks, ice creams and a selection of lunch meals. I've probably marked down harshly for their approach to covid. It's a one way system where you have to queue to get in which is also the queue for food and drinks. A single server and a single person delivering the food orders. This makes for slow progress. I'd prefer 3 staff serving and table service to stop the queueing. (I'm being picky I know). The price is as you'd expect for a cafe with the monopoly of a small tourist beach. 2 quid for a 1 pound ice cream and 3 pound for a 2 pound coffee (I'm a cheap skate northerner). The right place, the right time, the right price with excellent service and first class staff. The day Look bright and promising tempting me to take the dog for a walk along the beach at Widemouth Bay. But even the most promising of days can turn a little chilli in February so it was a very welcome sight to see that the cafe in the car park was open and ready for business. Then, even more surprising, a sign on the window proclaiming that my dog would be welcome inside as well as me. The menu is simple and straightforward, the service quick and efficient, the staff polite and helpful.
