Me and my partner have this habit of going to new places just to explore the grosvenors, and reading did not disappoint. From the moment we checked in, we were greeted by the loveliest receptionist who gave me a free drink voucher for it being my birthday, I took it to the bar and they gave me a free drink which I chose smirnoff vodka and lemonade, it was a single, but they were very generous with the alcohol to soft drink ratio š this grosvenor had the big wheel for newbies to spin, we have been members for years, but my partner asked if I could spin it, being my birthday, and Luke, the man on the desk said that I could for the occasion, I span it and got a voucher for a free bet on a single number, which if it had won I wouldāve got Ā£50, sadly it didnāt win but I had the opportunity! He also said that if we give our thoughts on the venue we could grab a free drink each. Unfortunately my partner was driving so his free drink soon became my free drink! š 3 vodka and lemonades down. Complimentary soft drinks ! Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff. They even had a vending machine with chunks of gold and silver in??? PokĆ©mon cards as well? Never seen that before but thought that was very cool! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this grosvenor and definitely beats the others we have been to, Bristol, Portsmouth, Southampton, the one in reading by the oracle, Bournemouth, and Cardiff - I think this is everyone we have been to but I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately this was a surprisingly disappointing visit to a Grosvenor casino. I have visited other Grosvenor casinos without issue before and had a great evening. There were only two roulette tables open on a Saturday night despite many staff members being available and stood having a catch up with eachother rather than working. At the roulette table when we finally played the dealer was reserving places for extended periods of time for players that had left the table with chips still on the table even though there was a queue on the table. As far as we could see, this was only due to the fact the players involved were spending a large sum of cash per round. When we went to cash out from the table, a friend pushed his chips forwards for the dealer and asked if he could please cash out, one of the stacks fell over and the dealer was very rude asking 'are you serious' and continued to be very rude until cashing the chips out. In terms of covid, the staff did not enforce mask wearing while customers moved around the casino and I felt exposed the entire time we were in there. On leaving, we said thanks to the four staff stood around by the door on exit, not a single one acknowledged us leaving, which we thought was very rude. I'd avoid this casino due to the exceptionally poor atmosphere and attitude of the staff, we left early and...

The casino itself is nice but the food was badly cooked, I worked as a manager in restaurants and if I sent out food as they did, I would of been sacked.
The staff on the door were very pleasant but the waiters were impatient and quite rude, they also refused to serve us drinks at our table and told us to order at the bar, which was very understaffed, leading to people waiting for more than 30 minutes for a drink.
We were very dissapointed at how appalling the customer service level was.
We paid £38 per person and the food and customer service was below that of what I experience as a customer in macdonalds during a rush.
There were 14 of us and none of us will be consuming food at this venue again.
The only plus side is that I personally made £200 out of the tables but that's hardly to be credited to the casino's favour.
Would not return to this...
