One of the best meals out I've had in a long time.
There was something authentic about this restaurant's reviews that made me want to visit it, and I have to say this is a genuine gem of a place that makes a visit to Reading worth it.
Firstly, if you want a posh restaurant, this is not it. This is a family run place, and it is clear that many of the visitors are extended family. The decoration is simple, it is light, but you are not coming here for the view.
However, what you are coming for is precisely that. This restaurant is the place where many Nepalese come for a taste of home. As such, you get two things here:
The flavours were wonderfully both powerful and delicate, abundant and complimentary. There was one dish we had that was really spicy, but that you didn't realise that your mouth was heating up because it was a beautiful slow intensity in the mouth that was a delicious surprise even to my wife, who doesn't normally do spicy.
If you just want an Indian restaurant (a cuisine they also offer and what we had searched for), I am sure they must be good too. But if you want a true gastronomic treat, this is definitely the place. I hope they go from strength to strength.

Read moreWent yesterday to eat at this place with family. Good points : Service was prompt. A family friendly place. The owners were friendly. Drawbacks: Not much value for money. The biryani priced around 10 pounds, the chicken curry etc. priced similarly tasted nothing extraordinary. The chicken thali ordered was around 14.99 pounds – did not have anything great, no roti/chapati/puri, the amount of side vegetables provided was miniscule. Certainly, no value for money. It should have been priced at the most around 9 pounds. Overall the bill came to around £58 pounds. The lamb biryani was passable, but certainly not worth the high bill amount. A fair price would be around 7 pounds for that stuff. Have eaten at more fancy air conditioned restaurants with cloth napkins and wonderful atmosphere for the price charged at this restaurant. This restaurant is small and not a fancy place, but the prices are too fancy. The staff is nice and friendly, but certainly very less value for money. Will not be visiting the...
