I've always loved a bakery but recently have become obsessed after changing my diet. I've been doing intermittent fasting with an 8 hour eating window for the last 8 months and have had tremendous success. Now this may not make too much sense but what has happened is that I've cut the cheaper disposable snack type food out of my diet and have instead limited myself to the occasional high quality baked good.
Since moving to Reading 2 years ago I've popped in here occasionally but since I am not overly indulging I ended up buying most of my quality baked goods while I'm in the office in London. But I've not been going into the office as much recently so I've been coming back here a bit more regularly.
This is really high quality stuff, I especially like how the range of items available changes from week to week and I very much enjoy the videos on Instagram on Saturday morning explaining what is on offer.
Special praise for the canele, which I tried today and was superb, I also always greatly enjoy the range of kouignettes. My wife loves the pain au chocolat, and at some point I will have to try the shortbread and cookies as they look great.
After reading some reviews I will also have to try out the custom cakes when I have an event.

The breads are the stars but you'll be quickly seduced by the pastries on offer, not just your standard issue croissants. Having sat in the car for ten minutes enjoying a cake, I tried a sip of the coffee. It was soo hot that it seared my gums, tongue and the roof of my mouth. The skin on the roof of my mouth is now peeling away. The specialty coffee association suggests heating milk to between 55&60c it should ever be heated to more than 70c let alone near boiling point !
