Amazing food, always so tasty and fresh and also so clean and hygienic. I must say (Vicky and Dawn) must be two of the of loveliest ladies I have ever met in my life and we’re so happy to help. They were so chatty and honestly made my evening. I turned up 5 minutes before closing time and this wasn’t even considered a problem to them, even had some fresh chips put in for me, how good is that?!:) I can’t praise them enough for the experience I have had this evening and if you ever get a chance to go to swallownest fish bar you most definitely won’t be disappointed. I'm not from around here, so maybe I have a different view from the locals. We arrived just before closing and we were greeted with a look of "oh great, a customer". Not even a smile. We were told they were closing, and all they had was chips, well duh, it's a chip shop, what do you think we want? A camel? Customer service probably counts for more than the actual product in this day and age. I don't remember what the chips were like, the only thing I'll remember is the service. Grim. Am not sure what has happened to this chip shop over the last few months, it's used to be really nice, the last 4 times we have been it has really gone down hill, the last 2 times the food was uneatable, the chips were hard like they had been warmed up over and over, the taste of the sausage was awful, not sure what it tasted of but it definitely was not any sausage I have ever had, it really is a shame as it used to be nice and ques out the door, now it's always empty, think the owner really wants to take note of all the latest reviews and put right what has gone wrong before...
