When I was back home I visited castlemilk old memory lane and was sad to see how run down the arcade was the people of castlemilk deserve better I have made previous visits when home as nothing has changed a large supermarket with this catchment area would be a winner for both the people who need it and the business Asda Tesco etc

The star is for the long suffering staff who work in the shops, calling this a shopping centre is an insult, the greedy owners are making it harder each year for shopkeepers to pay the rental fees and make a living for themselves, in the last few years shopkeepers have had to close down at an alarming rate, these people had served the Castlemilk community for years and while it couldn't be classed as a shopping centre you could usually get what you were looking to buy,now if you want a supermarket you have to travel which in the winter is a no for most of the community probably the owners want to close the shops down and sell the land for housing ,so whoever called it a shopping centre should have a look at a real shopping centre and take on board what they need to do to rectify...

This is a disgrace for a shopping centre and its entirely down to the owners who refuse to meet with council leaders regarding a decent supermarket/fresh food outlet for the community. We had athletes training in castlemilk during the championships and also the mountainbike course on our back garden (the braes) and not a decent fresh food outlet for them to shop. Totally embarrassing. And to think castlemilk was the largest housing scheme in europe at one point. As for the outlets who are still there, the staff are amazing. The only high note about...

There is a really good wee fruit and veg everything is always fresh and staff are really nice and helpful. Just avoid when it's school lunch time as the kids have no manners or respect. If the spent a wee bit of money on repairs and gave the place a wee face lift as it's quite depressing maybe more business would open up. Most of the staff that work in the shop are all really friendly...
