Just back from a 48 hour social on Orchid. Took my good friend from the Angling Trust so it had to be up to standard. In short we both had a run, but both lost to hook pulls. On another day that could have been two 40s in the net. What is worth mentioning is how well run the fishery is. Fantastic service even when completely full and booked out. New swims are fantastic and the stock speaks for itself. The two young bailiffs were keen, polite and so eager to help. They were out in the boat for us twice with no hesitation and were working like trojans with strimming and grass cutting keeping the venue in tip top condition. A credit to the fishery. This place has turned a big corner since Kev and the new owner have started running it properly and it was only due to hearing great comments through my network did I decide to book on. Will most certainly be back in autumn and winter!

It’s been a while since I last visited this iconic lake, and wow — what a difference! Small tackle shop to cater for what you might have forgot. Most swims have been upgraded to a high standard. Alimo and L-Shape now have solar-powered electric, lighting, and even heating for the colder months, which is a great touch. The trees have been neatly trimmed, and all the foliage is really well maintained. You can see the team take real pride in the place — they’re now turning their attention to managing the weed, too. It's still one of my favourite venues. Peaceful, well-kept, and clearly loved. It's definitely worth a visit!

Well what can I say we got here this morning after setting of @2.30am was greeted by the fishery manager Chris and you couldn't ask for a better guy helped us to our peg as I am a disabled angler so took his time out for me. Bait I ordered was deliverd to my swim the fella couldn't do anymore for us. Really made to feel so welcome so just wanted to say thanks buddy and a great service (The cheeky northerner don't forget you owe me some free samples lol getting free samples it's easier to get blood out of a stone) But really thanks so much

Well where do you start

First of all there’s some tidy fish here as we seen them showing etc I’d say definitely not as many as the fishery make out though I’m sure of it.

Second of all upon arrival you can have your gear moved to the peg for you if required at the cost of £5 to and from your peg, BAILIFS DONT HELP LOADING OR UNLOADING)

3rd thing other pegs aren’t bookable on the site purely due to the fact there all fished by bailiffs

4th thing bailiffs don’t offer no help or Tips what so ever, and when you do see them they are driving around drinking can of beer and smoking weed while driving.

5th thing upon arrival we where greeted by a lad that asked where we where from and when we told him he wales, his answer was why did you say that here we don’t like the Welsh. Even if this was a joke the actions from them showed it

6th thing your charged £1 into the bailiffs pocket to have a shower 🤣yes it’s cheap but really? shower block was stinking no mop to clean the floor after a shower stunk and full of spiders. Probably haven’t been clean in years, on the plus side the shower is nice and hot

A bailiff has been fishing here for a week solid with 0% catch rate

The weed is worse than any I’ve seen as In not healthy for the lake type of mass.

I mean no harm by this review but it’s an honest review that others need to prepare for as I came here going off all the previous good reviews and about being home Of the 30’s yet it’s nothing like what the reviews state and have been told most the reviews are by people close to the lake themselves.

Fair to say we will not be...

Fished the club lake here for years. Back today for the first trip of 2019 and what a day! Almost exclusively use maggots and ground bait feeders. You can bag up on BIG bream with the occasional tench and the odd carp. However today was the opposite. The tench were prolific and every one caught over 5lb. Only 1 bream today of 6lb 11oz. It’s a shame the gates were closing at 5 today as the tench really switched on about 3:30 and by 4:30 it was a fish a chuck. Might I also suggest a clear out of fallen branches sticks and twigs that litter the margins all around the lake, it makes netting the fish quite a challenge!

I will definitely be back again soon and throughout the year to hopefully bag one of the big cats this summer! Keep up...
