I myself have had the absolute privilege in visiting the one & only, most wonderfully resplendent... weardale railway 'in-person' on saturday 5th of July 2025 - during a weekend holiday to county durham (with my mum), especially to the superbly imposing stanhope rly station - excellent hub/starting point of the weardale railway to (and from) bishop auckland,
The surrounding landscape scenery - the line forever roams, is as superbly eye-catching, very cascading, ever so breathtakingly captivating... also just as wonderfully uplifting as any other heritage railway put-together,
Every station/halt - serving their respectable destination, is as terrific as they're all full of character, nostalgia, even more than a story to tell... the line through wonderous weardale is one of the greatest I've ever visited,
My most favourite spots along the line, is across the viaduct above the river wear, the crossings - one of whom at the foot of a hilly street... even through fields where I even saw quite a lot of wildlife, including a deer, let alone wild bunny rabbits out there,
The motive power is as good as any other available motive power worth riding aboard along the line, which was also a historic extension of the stockton & darlington railway by the way
I myself now hope to hopefully revisit the weardale railway once again, someday.... so profoundly grateful to have chosen the landmark railway 200 year 2025 of whom this very year as a way in visiting the weardale railway for the...

The tea was served in china cups and saucers together with a complimentary custard cream and the individual teapots didn't spill a drop. This railway is definitely worth another visit. The volunteer staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the parking was ok and the stations are...
