Good place to shop excellent produce at bargain prices. Not much parking though. Shop has stayed open throughout the pandemic. Some items are occasionally not in stock but have always been able to get the essentials and the quality and value for money remains top. Life after covid is not a lot different here. Still some empty shelves and some items seem to have been out of stock for a while. All this said produce is excellent quality and much cheaper than any of the other supermarkets. A couple of months on and it is pretty much back to normal. Majority of items now back in stock. Problems with eggs but the same in most places due to the bird flu. Called in today for my weekly shop. Was able to get everything apart from tomatoes and eggs. Did my weekly shop again and only thing I could not buy were cherry tomatoes. Loads of eggs today. Just about everything now in stock. Quite busy today but it is a very rainy Saturday afternoon. Still very good value. Another rainy Saturday afternoon and as you would expect quite busy. No real changes and just about everything back in stock. Some good deals to be had in the middle aisle. A really good selection of gifts and produce...
Read moreThis store has been going from bad to worse over the past few months. Huge gaps in the in-store bakery section at 9.00 this morning; store and car park were by no means full, and they can't possibly have sold out in the hour they had been open.
In addition, every single aisle was littered with pallets, crates and empty boxes, and gaps on shelves all over the store. I've just uploaded half a dozen picture taken this morning to prove I'm not exaggerating.. It looks as though store management is either completely out of its depth or simply doesn't care.
Shopping here has become a triumph of hope over experience. Now, even on a top-up visit for half a dozen or so items, I almost always end up having to go to Tesco for at least one thing Lidl has run out of. I'm asking myself; if I'm going to need to get the car out to visit another store anyway, why bother with Lidl in the first place? The rumoured new Aldi store nearby can't come...
Read moreI always enjoy shopping at Lidl, the staff are friendly, it's not often you have run out of any thing, however, apart from the car park being far to small, which cannot be helped, I must say that one thing does annoy me.... when there are queues and you bring on another member of staff to open a till, it should be the next customer in line. Myself and a gentleman where in a queue today at your Kingsteinton store, both of us having less than 5 items, were shocked as the people from the back of the queue ran to get there first. Surely it is right and fair for your staff member to ask the next in line to come to their till, and other to follow suit. It's not fair, and it's needs to change. Obviously a lot of people have lost their common courtesy. Thank you Mrs Susan Broadbent, 49 Buckingham Orchard, Chudleigh Knighton, Newton Abbot,...
