Second visit to PMG and this time it was a flop compared to the first on. After receiving a call to be there 30 minutes early we arrived and were informed of a delay. This is fine and to be expected on a Saturday. Once booked in we were asked by about what gloves we had with us. We had Alpine star gloves as these are acceptable at every other carting track and we were informed we couldn’t use them as they had no rubber grips and hand could slip on the wheel. Then told we needed to purchase gloves at £2 each. The gloves provided were slippery and had no where near as much grip as the ones we had brought along. After the briefing we headed to get changed and the race suits were not great. I’m not sure the last time they had been washed but it wasn’t recently. After waiting for 30 minutes we were told by the pit lane that our session had been put back even further meaning our slot was an hour after the time we had booked. Surely we should have been informed by the staff at the front desk that they had canceled our session and put us with a later one and not the guys trying to get everyone through quickly.
The karts and the karting was great, as were Zach, Harrison and Joe on the pit lane. However the front desk communication, unhelpful attitude and also the upsell on a pair of gloves that are not fit for purpose was not.
If gloves need to be a certain type then that should be stated on the booking information or even with the phone call about arriving early.
Only other issue was the female and disabled toilet door does not close as it is ill fitted and nothing was mentioned about it by the front desk. This really should be sorted before letting paying customers attend.
Won’t be rushing back on a hurry unfortunately, shame because the electric karts are...
Read moreSeasoned karter, been to many different tracks around the Midlands. First visit with my Dad today as we both had the day off work.
First impressions, incredible venue. New/modern and clean.
Very professional/thorough safety briefing from Sean. Good quality overalls, which can sometimes be old and worn at some venues.
Only my second time in an electric kart, I usually opt for petrol. After a previous visit to a different companies faculty, I was put off. However the fleet here you can tell is wall maintained and cleaned.
We had x3 different 15 min sessions, and Josh was kind enough to offer us tips in between to improve our times (which we both managed to do!). He also took a photo of us so I can share with my karting friends!
Didn’t realise we had GoPro cameras attached to the Karts until the end, as I initially wasn’t bothered with pre purchasing the add on. However, after such a great day that I wanted to share with others I scanned the QR code given to me and downloaded the HD footage.
My 6 year old has always spectated me when she can, and I understand they offer 1 hour coaching sessions for 5-7 year olds. I’m definitely booking for when she’s next this way.
Again I’ve been to many tracks all over the UK, and I went in today just wanting to kill some time and race around a new track to me. Instead I’ve left as a new loyal customer who will definitely be coming back.
Have/will recommend. Thanks to all the helpful staff (sorry I didn’t catch all...
Read moreI arived between the 10am and 12 that i was told to, both on wowcher and when i phoned to book, so got there about 11am, would have been earlier but there post code sends you to the wrong street. I waited to be seen as they were busy on the phones, when they did see me Oly told me with a GRIN on his face that as we were late my son could not race, i explaind how i was told on the phone i just needed to be there between 10 and 12 and also that it was on the printout from wowcher, he said that was between wowcher and me, i said is there nothing you can do as its his birthday gift, again with a GRIN on his face he said you are late and thats that. I said why are you grinning and do you understand how far we have traveled and that its for a childs birthday? so whats funny? I had to walk away from this person as i was like most people feeling angry at being treated like a joke by a person that clearly has no idea how to interact with people and how grinning whilst giving somone bad news is never going to add up to good custormer service. My wife stayed there to get a refund on the gloves they told me we needed (before Oly said it was to late to race) and also to get the e-mail address to complain. So if you prefer not to be treated pooly by somone that thinks upseting a child and wasting people time and money is funny then i would do just like im going to do which is to avoid...
