A nice walk between Winchester and Southampton that mostly tracks along next to the Ichen river. There are lots of informative notices along the track giving local info. Some parts of the track can get a little overgrown and narrow, but generally the path is well-formed and easy to walk. Be prepared for stinging nettles and beautiful views...

Lovely walk all the way to Winchester small muddy part near to the Winchester end but mainly easy walk beautiful countryside and pretty scenery not really any places to eat unless you come off tge walk a bit but did stop for ice cream bout half way from Riverside Park to winchester we were lucky as was nice...

Survival of the agricultural and industrial revolutions in Hampshire, the Navigation is an 'improved' waterway connecting Winchester and Southampton. Barge traffic ceased in 1869 but the 10 mile towpath can be walked through a tranquil landscape along a river with European and UK designations...
