Having visited the bell inn today for lunch, I pleased with the food I had, although this was only a hot BLT, with a side of chips. The bacon was cooked well and the sandwich was enjoyable. The chips were homemade and freshly cooked, the only complaint was that there weren't many of them. The outdoor seating area was nice and there were plenty of tables to choose from and dogs are welcome. In my opinion, the main issue with the pub is the the lack of advertising, most people pass it regularly on their way into Winchester without even seeing it, which is a shame, as it has a nice atmosphere and a quiet place to enjoy...
