Some nice wooded trails lead up from the car park and take you up to a pretty old windmill. Which is at the top of a hill of rocky paths winding through old green and brown mossy paths. From the windmill you can keep walking along a rocky oath at the tip of the hill and find some stunning views back across to liverpool. The whole place will take a couple of hours to walk and there are some hidden trails and paths I'm yet to discover. Perfect for a light to medium walk with your dog. Also should you want to visit, just opposite the car park for the nature reserve is a free to enter farm with plenty of Ani also, this also has a cafe...

Very peaceful and photogenic walk in nature with plenty of natural and historical interest. It is a short walk from the free car park, through shaded woodland to get to Bidston Windmill, which you have to cross the road for. This was my first trip here and was a flying visit but I will be returning, as I intend to see the marshes, the ancient carvings including the Norse Irish Sun Goddess circa 1000 AD and the observatory next time....
