It was the worst experience of my life! I was yelled at and embarrassed by the owner. I went in for rainbow chrome polish over white. I brought in a picture. The nail tech was doing great (Sean) until the manger who fell all over herself when I walked in to offer coffee, tea or water to others. By the way non ethnic ppl and not me came over. The first application of chrome powder was not rainbow. Although I showed the pic and my iridescent purse to indicate that's what i was looking for So she comes back with him. Hands on hips and tells him what to apply. I expected him to buff the chrome powder and said as much to him but with what she told him to do he did not. He applied it with his fingers and out a clear coat on top. When I said it wasn't what I asked for she says it's too late we are not taking it off. Then she tried to convince me that it was what I asked for even when I showed her the picture. She's yelling at me the entire time though i asked her to lower her voice repeatedly and i was not yelling. She began taking the polish off and yelled and me that her tech took his time and was mad and she was mad. Yelling why didnt I (NOT A NAIL TECH) Tell him that the second one wasn't right before he put on the clear coat as though I would know how that works. She said that I could sit there for another 2 hours to get my nails done again. And inexplicably yelled at me that just because I have money didn't mean I can do what I want. Which i never said. Finally she threw down her equpment and had a girl INCOMPLETELY remove the sparkly polish and do a sloppy job with the clear coat and charged me 45 dollars for my trouble. Ps: the last time I went there the owner did my nails sloppily and left my cuticles cut up. And you can bet your last money there reply will be defensive as it is to anyone dissatisfied with their service and treatment of black patrons. Stay tuned! I have pictures of everything. The last picture is what...
Read moreI came in to have my gel nails soaked off and have regular polish put on top. I called the day before to schedule an appointment and was told to just come in first thing in the morning and “we will take care of you”. I arrived first thing in the morning at 10 am. I explained to the lady up front what I wanted, and she seemed confused, and I initially was going to leave, because I had a bad vibe about the place, but I didn’t know if I would be able to get in anywhere else without an appointment so I stayed. The same lady from up front starts doing my nails (15 min after I sit down in a nearly empty salon) and I tell her I need to take a picture of it being removed, because I’m a nurse and needed proof that I had the polish removed. She then gets up and tells me to leave. I was the only black person in the salon, and just from how they interacted with me tells me that they treat their white patrons different than the people of color. Beware. I will also be contacting the state board because they were using a foot shaver blade on an old mans foot, and those are not allowed.
Look at Kierra Johnson’s review below for the sad similarities! We are both women of color.
Response to salons comment:
I was not being rude, only trying to explain what I needed done, but instead she was answering the phone while talking to me. I explained multiple times what I needed, which was a simple soak off without ruining my nails. I needed a picture of my nails being taken off. Simple as that. She wasn’t to be in the picture at all. Save your explanation for the state board. And since you mentioned my bad experience elsewhere…it was at a salon that had a “surprise” state inspection visit secondary to a customer complaint while I was there. I would get rid of your shavers if I were you. Good day. Don’t worry about responding dear…I’ve moved on from this. State board might not be...
Read moreAs excited as I was to try a new nail salon out today, since the original one I go to is closed on Mondays, I will say I was highly disappointed. I want to leave a good review since they have so many. But they need to do a better job with customer service.
I understand they were busy this morning as it was the first day of school. They asked what we wanted as soon as we walked in, but failed to give us a wait time.
We were sat down working 10 minutes and waited....waited....waited....45 minutes have passed and the only service we received was water bottles and my aunt’s foot tub which was barely filled up. Only to the bottom of her foot.
I was not expecting to get in and out since we did not have an appointment, but to not been check on, after other patrons had just gotten started with their services is pitiful.
Absolutely nobody could’ve came and apologized, or at least ran my aunt some more bath water, cut my nails and go back to another patron they were doing service on (multi-tasking).
The salon across the street does a great job at the multi-tasking with only 5 employees.
Perhaps I will try this nail salon out in the future. But as for right now, very disappointed in their lack of customer service. Seriously, NOBODY could’ve checked in on us for the 45 minutes we waited besides the water at the very beginning?!
Not a single word. “How the bath water?”, “what did you want on your nails again?”, “let me cut your nails, and run back to this customer it will take less than 20 minutes.” I would’ve not walked up and left had they just given me a second of their time. It was obvious the salon was packed, but to not even let a customer know how long the wait will...
