We used to love this place. The last few experiences have been average at best but what is most insulting is how we have been treated when there is a problem. One visit dining in, we ordered a hibachi filet medium rare. It came out well done. It was sent back 3 times and not a shred of pink could be found every time. It was finally discovered that the server was misunderstanding and thought we said medium well each time. Fine, except now we are 2 hours in, out of time and have to get back to the baby sitter, and still haven't had the food we ordered. Their apology was to offer us a 20% off coupon for a return visit - again, no issue except this is the same coupon available to anyone who gets money mailer so this isn't anything over and above what we would get if everything had been perfect. After that it was six months before we decided to give them another shot because it HAD been good in the past. We ordered delivery and our rice was not included. We called and they said someone would bring it out. An hour later we still had no rice and we live less than 2 miles away. The manager offered a $10 gift card which I thought was at least more of an apology since I assumed that like any other place that a gift card is equivalent to cash payment and could be used on the discounted amount. Tonight we thought we would use the gift card and order our regular two hibachi filets and one sushi roll. We were told we had to choose between the 20% off coupon and the gift card but could not use both. Again, this completely invalidates the former apology because the 20% off I could get anyway is a bigger discount and could be used even if nothing was wrong. I love Japanese food and am so frustrated because our options are limited in the area but I'm so disappointed in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAtmosphere is nice. Food tasted great. Service on the other hand, was not great at all. To start, we had a server who was training another server, but she seemed not to know anything that was on the menu, not sure she should be training. Secondly, my ordered a beer (Ichiban) and it was taking a while to come, he kept having to remind the server, when he finally came, we were actually brought a sushi platter (we didn't order). When my husband asked what it was, she had confused his order, of a beer, with this platter. When we told her what he ordered, she apologized, went to speak with manager and came back and said we can keep it for free. Then, another server (who was more experienced) came back and apologized and said we could keep it or return it, but no charge, so we kept it. After my husband was done eating, what he didn't order, the server, with more experienced, said the manager changed his mind and charged us half, since he ate it. My husband was not pleased at all and asked to speak to the manager. The server returned, but no manager, I'm guessing they refused, very unprofessional!! And said they removed the cost. After this we ate our food, the server that was being trained (in our opinion more professional than the others) helped us for the rest of our meal. Once done, the check was brought. We ran into another problem, we were charged for having fried rice for our two boys ($.50 ea), not a problem, but they had white rice, which was included. We didn't care about it, paid and left. We will not be returning and this was our first visit. Please train your servers a little better and the manager should really speak to paying customers who had nothing but problems. Again, food was great, that's why it...
