Disappointing Experience with Multiple Service Issues

After a long hiatus from writing critical reviews, I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience at this establishment. While the complimentary chips and salsa were enjoyable, the service deteriorated significantly from there. Our table sat empty for over 30 minutes waiting for our entrées. When the food finally arrived, both orders were incorrect. We had specifically requested supreme upgrades on our combo meals, but neither came as ordered. After sending the items back, they returned with the same errors, and staff insisted the orders were correct despite our clear specifications.

The most puzzling issue involved what we ordered as a chalupa but received as what appeared to be a tostada - a flat, fried tortilla rather than the expected fried shell. When we questioned this, the server maintained it was indeed a chalupa. To verify, I consulted multiple sources (sent a photo to chatgpt and asked it identify the food, to which it replied that is a tostada) and even asked the hostess on our way out, who confirmed it looked like a tostada. This suggests either a menu description issue or kitchen confusion about their own items.

Most concerning was our server's response to these multiple errors. Rather than acknowledging the mistakes or offering an apology, they continued attempting to upsell desserts and takeout items. This lack of accountability turned a disappointing meal into a frustrating customer service experience.

Oh and I forgot to mention that the drink menu has no prices nor sizes. When asked what the prices and sizes were the waiter stated they are all different. He states the small was 16 ounces and the large was unknown, simply called a Jumbo. After he returned he stated it was 27 oz. We ordered two jumbos which turned out to be significantly different in price once we received our bill. This business would benefit from a little price transparency rather than offering unknown sizes of drinks at...

The food is delicious! However, I took one ⭐️ off for service. When ordering takeout, please check your orders before leaving the restaurant.

On at least 3 occasions (that I can remember) I have picked up orders, driven multiple miles, only to get where I was going to find items missing or not what was ordered.

I’ve spent time on the phone, having the order taker repeat the order back to me and somehow it still ends up wrong.

The other day for example: I tell the person on the phone i need to order 4 separate dinners but that I would pay for all of them together.

First: 3 Shrimp and fish tacos dinner (no beans, rice only) with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, sour cream and cilantro

Next: I ordered a Grilled Chicken tacos dinner (black beans and rice) with everything (and I specifically asked what ‘everything’ was.) I made sure to ask for lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, sour cream and cilantro.

Then: 2 Texas Fajita dinners both with flour tortillas

And finally: A large Tex-Mex Guacamole.

I arrive a half hour later to pay for the orders. They are busy and I can see there are others waiting as well. Standing at the bar I get my orders and then something in my head said ‘check the orders’, so I did a cursory search through the big shopping bag they were in.

Got back with said orders and found -

NO BLACK BEANS or RICE except what was in the fajita dinners, which by the way had NO TORTILLAS (flour or otherwise), AND ALL the lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, sour cream and cilantro was put in one container together!

And just to top that off - The GUACAMOLE was 2 avocados sliced in half resting on a bed of what I think was pico de gallo topped with 3 slices of jalapeños! That shouldn’t ever happen!!

Like I said before, the food tastes great, usually presented well when dining in, but check your takeout orders!!

It could end up being like a potluck dinner! You won’t know what ya got ‘til you open...

I have been here three times since they have changed from La Bamba to Cielo Blue. The food is fantastic. However, I cannot say the same about the staff. My first visit was a pleasant one. The waitress was attentive and the food was great. The second time I went, I just got a togo order. The bartender seemed to spend more time chatting with the other servers near the kitchen area than attending to his customers. So that was a little irritating, but sometimes it happens. I could see all the servers congregating near the entrance to the kitchen talking loudly and not attending to their customers. I could see people on the other side of the restaurant scanning around looking for their server, but they were too busy talking with the other servers. The last time I went in I sat in the bar area in a booth. A DJ table was set up but the DJ was nowhere to be found. The music was so loud I could not hear what my wife was saying. But, the food is so good that I could have dealt with the noise. But nobody ever came to our table despite numerous servers looking at us. Not even a basket of chips. So after about 10 minutes we got up and left. My biggest issue with this place is the same issue I had with La Bamba. The wait staff seem more concerned about joking around and talking with each other than providing service to the customers. I would love to go back because the food is great and the location is convenient for me, but I will not go back for awhile. I want to see the staff improve before I give anymore of my money to them. For now, I will stick to La Parilla and...

Went here with wife for a date night. We had been here several years ago and really enjoyed it. This time around not so much. Food was good. We shared an appetizer of avocado rolls, delicious and very filling, a little greasy but dang good. We also shared an entree of mango habanero chicken, which was also good, very tasty. The mango mixed with habanero on a just properly cooked piece of chicken mashed into a pico de gallo sauce, yummy. The appetizer was pretty big for 2 medium sized adults, we couldn't finish it , maybe because it came at the same time as the entree, which was a little small with side of rice. Service was slooooow. We sat outside, this was about 9pm, no lights. They had lights, they didn't work. We didn't want to move inside as the guy providing live music was very good but LOUD unless you sat far away, so we just asked to be moved close to door so we could see food. Of course, this took many minutes and several different waiters we asked because ours kept disappearing and not coming back. Nice guy but MAN maybe waiting on customers isn't your forte; I'm not gonna say his name, because he was very polite. Anyway, stars based on: Poor outside lighting = 1 Slow service = 1 Nice waiter = 3 Food quality = 5 Food quantity = 4 Ambience = 2 Total = 3 (heavy 2 but I'm giving 3)

We gave Cielo another try as La Parilla was packed. We sat down pretty fast but waited like 10 minutes for server to come. Server came right away afterwards spoke to manager. Apparently server wasn't told we were seated. Manager gave us some free questions dip. Other than wait time once server came she was very attentive and nice. Food was good. Overall way better experience since last time we came 11 months ago.
