I cannot possibly say enough positive things about the quality of the work done in the shop by Ed. I brought him a Montgomery Ward Airline stereo console that I thought was mostly functional. It was not until after he finished cleaning and repairing it that I really got to hear this beautiful piece wake up. He took a console that is probably 60 plus years old and made it sound as good as it did the day it left the assembly line. Every function on it works. It sounds crystal clear, and the record player now operates all of the automatic functions that it was supposed to originally. Even if there were other shops in the area that were capable of doing this work, I wouldn't let any of them touch my stuff after seeing how excellent the quality of work is. I cannot wait to bring him my RCA. Victor console and see what he can do with that. This is not a cheap process, but I believe his work is worth absolutely every penny and more. I honestly don't believe you're going to find anyone more knowledgeable anywhere in the midwest. And, as a bonus, he spent the time to go through and make sure that I comfortably understood how the console is supposed to operate. He not only fixed the equipment, he gave me the education to continue to enjoy this beautiful piece for many years to come. Thanks again, Ed. I will...

Read moreEd at Vintage Audio STL fixed our vintage Revox amplifier a couple months ago with incredible turn around and attention to detail. He even showed us newbies to this world of vintage audio how to maintain our set-up to keep it working for years to come. Today I called him because we’ve been having no sound and have been devastated, and he could tell from my description which button I had accidentally pressed that caused this. He trouble-shot in seconds and was just as happy as I was that we got our sound back! I was ready to bring in the TT and have him replace RCA cables, but he is a true man of integrity and passion for quality repair/music enjoyment. We can’t recommend Ed and his...
