A friend and I went to carries nail nook and it was a bad experience from the time we arrived until the time we left. We had to wait an hour and a half before getting seen because the owners daughter was having an emergency situation. Instead of her being professional and handling the conversation privately she did it in front of everyone. Carrie was verbally disrespectful to law enforcement agencies and even chastised her employee for not following her directions when she came back from doing Carrie a favor by picking up her daughter which I thought again was unprofessional. She sat me in a pedicure chair where the remote was broken and she told me I had to hold it in order to use it and before I could even use it once I went to grab it and it fell into the water which terrified me because that's electricity falling into water where my feet were. There were three other chairs available that she could have sat me in but she sat me in a chair with a broke remote then when she had to move me because the chair malfunctioned after the remote fell in water she started to complain out loud because there was no toilet paper in the bathroom which I was the last person in the bathroom as she knew and I had forgotten to tell them the toilet paper was out because again it was chaotic. Carrie butted into a private conversation that my friend was having on the phone and started giving unsolicited advice and made a phone call to the person who fixes her chairs and was telling them in front of everyone making me feel bad "yeah somebody dropped the remote in water" and everyone clearly saw that it was me which I never should of been sat there from the beginning. The final straw for me was when my friends tech got done with her nails and I was still sitting in the pedicure chair because again my technician did not get there until 30 minutes after my friend was already in the chair. She did a fantastic job doing my pedicure but since my friend was ready to leave I asked her if she could ask Carrie if she could give me gel nail polish so that it would dry fast and I could leave since we did have to sit there and wait because I was in a hurry. Carrie said no because she had to move my chair. I was beyond floored that that was her response considering we waited an hour and a half before we got started I had to wait an extra 30 minutes so I waited 2 hours before I even got started and then she would not approve the gel nail polish which was $15 extra over the regular polish because she had to move my chair that she put me in knowing it was broken. It was an unprofessional atmosphere although the employees were nice and the tech did good work, I would never go back again because of the owner and how she made me feel as a paiying client in her...
Read moreAt a little over a week out from the date of service, and I’m left unsure how to feel about my experience. I will say that the shop was clean, and the tech I had was very personable. I needed my nails done for an event. I wanted to go here based on reviews and photos on the website etc. I initially tried to call to schedule an appointment, but after multiple unanswered calls to the several numbers listed for the business, I ended up having to drive there just to make the appointment. There’s an option to book online, but I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted, and didn’t want to schedule for the wrong service. The day of my appointment comes, and I get there several minutes early. I proceed to wait a little over half an hour past my appointment time. The shop didn’t seem that busy at the time, so I’m not sure what the delay was. I’m guessing they either didn’t account for the pace the tech I was scheduled with works at, or they just didn’t schedule enough time between appointments. I’m usually pretty flexible with my time, but I had a lot to do that day, and not being able to count on the appointment time frame, really messed my schedule for that day up. I just wish salons would take into account the clients’ time, as well as their own. All in all, I was there a little over three hours to get a full set with gel polish. I don’t mind a tech taking their time, however for that amount of time, I’d expect a really clean looking acrylic application. This was not the case. Several nails had uneven areas of acrylic (dips, bumps, etc) things that should have been filed smooth in that amount of time. The shape also wasn’t super consistent on each nail. I didn’t leave hating my nails, but I definitely had higher expectations based on reviews. I was initially going to go back, but at the ten day mark I’ve completely lost three of the nails. I’m not hard on my nails, I take care of them, and for $75 after taxes & tip, I’d expect them to last longer than 10 days. I still feel on the fence about the whole experience, but ultimately I don’t think I have confidence enough in the quality of work to go back. I’m just bummed out because I really wanted to...
Read moreEDIT: owner & manager messaged me multiple times arguing with me about the situation and continued to message me unprovoked after I told her to stop & leave me alone. The owner is unhinged & im genuinely concerned that she has my contact information. Never, was it this big of a deal, to be harassed.
Stopped in with my mom for a girls day where I was getting acrylics & my hair done. She got a manicure. When we arrived, she was taken straight back for our appointment at 2p. I waited until 2:46 to be taken back and didn’t get started until around 3:15p. The owner & my technician took more than 3 hours to do a simple acrylic set. She made almost every single one of my cuticles bleed & they don’t even look cleaned up, still. My nails are different shapes & sizes. The artwork was done great, though! It took 3 hours because the technician took at least 5 phone calls on her cell phone and had conversations on speaker while trying to multi task and do my nails. She also got up from my service to do random things multiple times. When I got to my hair appointment at 6:30 (which was supposed to be at 3:15p) I really liked the stylist. She was new, but seemed knowledgeable about products and was overall nice. Finally left around 9:30 after showing up at 2pm. Got home and didn’t like my hair. It wasn’t like what I showed her nor was it blended well at all. She probably felt rushed due to me being so behind. I don’t blame her. My stylist told me before leaving that should I want tweaks she would do it for free and looked at her owned & said “right?” but then the owner interrupted her and said “we’ll figure it out” which told me it wouldn’t be free lol. I texted the manager and showed her my hair and she didn’t respond. All in all I’m going to get everything fixed at another place. I feel like I wasted $200. I even tipped well for both services despite the circumstances. It seems really unprofessional at this establishment, especially...
