To start off with, I love Bob Evans. I have been eating at their restaurants for as long as I can remember.
I ordered the biscuit and sausage gravy breakfast on Sunday, and decided to go with curbside pickup. I used the app and was given a time of 9:30am for the order. I arrived there at 9:30 and called the number on the sign and was put on hold for roughly 15 minutes ( the timer on my phone showed 14 min and 34 seconds), I hung up and called again and someone answered. I explained how I was on hold for 15 minutes and gave her my name, she didn't comment on the wait time but said she would bring out my order. After roughly 5 minutes she brought out the breakfast and I headed home. I live about a mile from Bob Evans so it wasn't a long trip. I went inside, sat down, opened my containers and everything was cold....not slightly cold, kind of cold or anything like that, it was cold and to top it off, I paid extra for loaded hash browns and received a pitiful lump that was easily covered by one egg. I eat at the restaurant all the time and can honestly say that the hash browns in my container were about 1/6 of what I get when I eat in....so same price, a drive over there and a tip and I get shorted.
I'm super disappointed, this isn't the only time I have been burned by this location, one other time it was when I used their app and ordered a dinner and a full pumpkin pie for later...received the dinner, no pie. When I called to ask about getting another pie, I was told that they use door dash for the ordering so I needed to take it up with them, of course door dash told me it was Bob Evans responsibility so I never received my pie.
Twice burnt is two times too...
Read moreI ordered 2 Three-Course Slow Roasted Turkey & Dressing Dinners for carryout, I believe this order was placed at 6:47pm and picked up at about 7:17pm, upon arriving at my hotel, I discovered that the soup was missing from one of the orders, also the appearance of the food was unacceptable, the food was thrown into the containers, only 1 slice of turkey per order, broccoli and vegetables were mush, totally unacceptable meals, I called the restaurant to tell the manager about the missing soup, this was about 7:30pm, your manager Brandy came on the phone and I explained I was not happy to be missing the soup, she dryly replied “is that all”, sensing no empathy from her, I then informed her that the food overall was not acceptable, at which point she exclaimed “if you keep complaining about the food, it will not end well for you”, I then informed her that I may have to return the order to the restaurant, upon which she replied ” if you come back to the restaurant, I will call the police on you”, I am sure Bob Evans is so proud they spent money on training Brandy on how to deal with customers, this experience guarantees that I will never be a Bob Evans customer again, the food was mainly inedible and my wife and I gave our dog over half of the turkey and she would not eat it, this was a horrible experience, one that I am sure will have to be reported by me to many social contacts and outlets, I do not care to be placated by your corporate apologies, offers of refunds or other nonsense, when you employ people such as Brandy, your legitimacy...
Read moreI was craving Sausage gravy and biscuits so I invited a friend to dinner at Bob Evans on Gilchrist Road in Akron, Ohio. I did order the sausage gravy and biscuits and my guest got the fish dinner with Hash Browns and a vegetable. My friend said that her fish was delicious and after we were done she said her entire meal was delicious and the Hash Browns were amazing and "really hit the spot." I noticed the Hash Browns when our plates came out to our table. I thought they looked perfect. They were a golden brown, hot and looked picture perfect. I'd like to say the same was true for my meal but unfortunately, it wasn't. The biscuits were lukewarm at best and the sausage gravy was cold. It was terrible to say the least. I should have sent it back but I was so hungry after a very long day, that I ate just the biscuits. One dinner was wonderful, one dinner, the easiest to make of the two, was horrible. I guess if you stop here to eat, it's basically a coin Ross as to whether your meal is good or not. Good luck, you have a 50/50 chance. This having been said, I ripped the waitress very well bc she was delightful. She was expecting her first child and we had a hundred questions about the baby. Did she know what sex the baby is, picked out any names and so on and so on. She smiled and laughed with us and patiently answered every question. It's a good thing we were there at an "off peak" time and there were only a few other customers there. All in all, I'd say so, so food but...
