First I want to say that Dr Batson was the best OBGYN and I hate that she left!!! That’s the reason for 3 stars. The reason I subtracted 2 stars is because of how long it takes to either make an appt or request a refill. Also, because the “switchboard” people (not local office) are rude.
I called to make an appointment with another doctor in the practice and was on hold for about 7 minutes. That’s not unusual. PLEASE NOTE the office staff at Alabaster location have always been very pleasant. The negative experience is not with any of them. They leave early on Fridays and transfer calls to a switchboard service who schedules appointments. (Or maybe they work at another location? Idk?) but I know it wasn’t anyone in local office because the woman who answered told me she did not know anything about any of the doctors and had never met them. ?!!?? Okayyyy
I called today I was transferred to answering service/random people who schedule appointments and they were very dry and had that typical attitude that comes along with most medical office/admin personnel. What is it with office staff who work in doctors’ offices? It seems like 99% of the time people who work there are unhappy and that you’re bothering them? Lol. So rude!! This one was no different. She wasn’t able to help me figure out which doctor I would be a good match with since Dr. Batson left. She cut me off when I was talking. She was so dry and really bordering rude. That attitude that isn’t bad enough to call and complain to anyone but enough yo make someone dread calling the office.
One more thing, unless I’m not aware, this office is very behind on technology. They do not offer teledoc appointments or online management of your account. (If they do then I haven’t been made aware and have been a patient for over 5 years).
The worst is you cannot make an appointment online. You have to call, wait on hold and listen to LOUD MUSIC IN YOUR EAR FOR AT LEAST 5 MINUTES BEFORE YOU CAN TALK TO ANYONE! It’s awful! They would save $ if the had software that allowed patients to make appointments online. I hate having to call up there for anything.
For refill requests, SAME THING! You have to call up there on the phone and wait to be transferred somewhere and speak to someone. It’s so archaic! It’s a waste of 15 minutes of my life to do what should take no more than 1 minute. We should be able to send an email or log in to our account and send a message.
But at the very least PLEASE TURN THE VOLUME DOWN ON THE HOLD MUSIC!! If you’re going to force us patients to call and sit on the phone then please don’t force us to listen to loud music.
Maybe they don’t know how loud it is?
It’s loud!
Please get with the times on technology and allow patients the option of online management of their appointments and medication refills, records requests etc. This would save us so much...
Read moreAs a first time patient, I was nervous about the experience I was going to have. I had done some research on the office and the doctors and I was met with really good reviews so that helped put my mind at ease. When I had called the first time to make an appointment, the phone was picked up on the first ring and the woman I spoke with was very nice and extremely helpful.
Upon arrival for my first appointment, I knew that I've been having issues with insurance and the receptionist was understanding and very kind. She took the time to call my insurance company to see if there was anything that could be done, and as someone who works with health insurance, it can sometimes be a difficult process. The issue was not resolved, however I knew this was something they did not have any control over so I was perfectly okay with that. Also, when completing some online forms, I had made a payment so they took that amount off of my bill today and I was very thankful for that.
I was also very glad that I had the opportunity to talk with Dr. Adcock before I went in for my examination, it helped calm my nerves. We discussed the issues I had been dealing with and I had come in wanting to have my IUD removed. My decision was 100% respected and he was willing to do so. It also made me very glad to hear that their offices are working towards getting better pain management options for when someone wants to get an IUD, it really lets me know that they care about their patients and their wellbeing. During my examination, I was very nervous, however, Dr. Adcock was accompanied by a nurse who was very kind, and they both made sure I was okay throughout the entire process and made sure I was confortable. There is the inevitable of experiencing pain or discomfort so after my examination, they gave me a minute to relax. By this point, I was content and I no longer had any anxieties. Overall, I had a very positive experience today and I am grateful for Dr. Adcock and the wonderful staff that work with him. I'm glad I was able to find such a wonderful office and I would highly recommend this...
Read moreI’m wrapping up my Prenatal care and will be delivering my baby boy this month! I started here in April of 2020 after getting a positive and this office and staff have made every step of this pregnancy amazing. The front desk staff are always so polite and welcoming in both the Brookwood and Alabaster office. Every time I’ve had to call a nurse for questions I was always addressed promptly and respectfully. My OB was Dr. Batson! I specifically chose her based on her experiences and specialties listed on the site and she has been an absolute blessing! She’s very graceful, understanding and knowledgeable! With this being my first pregnancy, she’s been very informative, helpful and encouraging. Throughout your pregnancy you’ll meet with all the providers in the office but for the most part I got to stay with Dr. Batson and is lucky enough she’ll be doing be C-section before she transItions to just OBGYN services and not babies anymore. All other providers are very knowledgeable and nice, but I preferred mine. These offices are exceptionally clean and the staff are always nice to chat with. Most of the nurses and lab gals I talked to really helped calm my nerves and make me laugh when I was stressed. This office works well with your insurance (never had issues) and works with you on payments if needed. I will be a lifetime customer of this practice if I have more kids as well as my regular OBGYN visits. I highly recommend this place for all your OB /...
