The food seemed so bland, it had absolutely no seasoning. The salsa was so extremely spicy, that I assumed they gave us their most spiciest by mistake. I asked if they had a mild one, the server said yes & brought me enchilada sauce & 2 more of the exact same salsa. đ The salsa almost seemed like it was tomato purĂŠe, with straight jalapeĂąođ¤ˇđźââď¸. There was NO cilantro or any other seasoning that I could taste. The rice was super hard and clunked together like it had been sitting on a hot station for a good period of time & maybe dried out. We asked if we could substitute the âguacamole saladâ for sour cream vs Guacamole - the server said yes, but brought us guacamole. He was supposed to bring us sour cream and chips back & I think he forgot about us until we got the check. He was suppose to bring us some chips for - we ordered 2 cheese dips & the chips they provided was crushed up and crumbles. Which really didnât matter since the cheese dip was cold. I tried to explain to the server, but I donât think he understood. He would just say âyesâ & nod his head. I love to support local & hope this may be a fluke with just starting out or maybe just one of those nights. I sincerely hope it improves and has many successful years. Tonight was a total waste of money & filled with...

I've had great Mexican food around and some that was good, but this place is actively terrible. The chips were so stale, that we asked for another basket. Out came another basket of stale chips that were just a little warmer. It was obvious that they were from lunch. Salsa tasted like some kind of weirdly spiced ketchup. Rice and beans were good. We both ordered quesadillas, and they were terrible. Very skimpy on meat. Mind was fajita style chicken, but it should have been called onion quesadilla. I poked around and found a few greasy, fatty pieces of chicken. My son's shrimp quesadilla had 4 medium sized shrimp. Four. His and mine were very oily. I don't see how they stay open with so many good places around. We were Del Toro regulars and miss it. Neither of us will ever be back at Maya. You have to pass by too many really good Mexican places to waste time and...
Read moreMaya Mexican is one of those local favorites that always hits the spot â whether youâre craving a sizzling fajita platter, a cheesy enchilada, or just chips and queso with good company.
The atmosphere is warm and lively, with friendly staff who make you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Service is fast, portions are generous, and the flavors are bold and satisfying. The fajitas arrive hot and sizzling every time, and the house margaritas are strong in all the right ways.
We especially love how consistent everything is â the chips are always crisp, the salsa always fresh, and the entrees come out hot and flavorful. Maya is that go-to spot for casual nights out, family dinners, or celebrating the end of a long week.
