Expensive clinic and doesn't test when they should. Brought in our precious cat because of sluggishness, spraying (was neutered), vomiting, etc. was previously checked around June. Was tested not even a week ago and charged to visually check cat but wouldn't take blood test even after I asked. (Googled causes of sudden death and found the symptoms I told them fall in line with kidney disease). Well, this morning - just 6 days later the cat was found dead. This cat was less than 3 yrs old. The Dr made the exam and said everything was fine. Interesting how more is learned by google than from the supposed professionals. We are both combat veterans and understand death so this isn't a "caught up in the moment" post. But we take our 4 dogs and now no cat regularly for their tests and vaccinations and spend thousands of dollars to ensure they are healthy. It's unsat that a proper test wasn't done that could have found the problem in time for treatment. We were told it was "behavioral issue" Anyone seeing this post please remember and demand blood tests if your pet displays odd symptoms. Our advice is to look for a better clinic if you love your pets before this post is removed. The staff is great. I got a call the next day after posting the review. The veterinarian.... not so much as a call. Had Dr Imbur called and apologized for missing it, things would have been different. Instead a week has gone by and nothing which only serves to prove she's in it for the money over pet care. Had our last chow chow set for an appt to be spayed. Cancelled it. I wouldn't let this veterinarian look at a three month old dead rat. No confidence at all in her abilities. Definitely doesn't seem to understand these aren't just pets, they're family members. Her lack of concern or compassion speaks volumes. We have spent thousands of dollars to ensure they remain in good health. None of our fur babies will ever be in her hands again
Just a follow up. This place will murder your pet and if you give a bad review, they send a "certified letter" telling you that because of your " behavior" you aren't welcome to have your pets taken care of. 7 weeks today our loving not even 3 yr old cat died after dr Imber said he was ok. Because I did a bad review they pulled this crap after I stated they wouldn't be seeing our pet. We aren't done. Their behavior has caused my other half (another 100% disabled vet) to have to go back to counseling. We are going to pursue legal action with our lawyer, contact our senator and the congressional committee for veterans affairs over their behavior. All they had to do was say they made a mistake, sorry for your loss and that would have been the end of it. Instead they sent a condescending letter telling us our pets won't be seen by them but "for a fee" we can get the records. Tell me again how they aren't solely for the money. They don't give a shit about your pet. Go...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePLEASE READ ENTIRE REVIEW THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU...We had the worst experience with this vet. We had 3 visits over 5 weeks for a limp. Visit #1 X-rays were taken and a diagnosis of a possible bone tumor and we were told testing for this condition was extremely painful and expensive and his leg may have to be amputated, we were devastated. Visit #2 Dr said she thought she rushed to a tumor diagnosis and said it could be a possible bone infection. Each visit came with an exam that totally did not address a large lump on his side. Visit #3 at our request X-rays of the lump were taken. The Dr came in, showed the x-rays to us and pointed out that there was a mass in the abdomen that was obscuring his critical organs and was very close to his heart, treatment....Quality of life care until we were ready to euthanize. We were heartbroken. We weren't ready to give up. We had Albion refer us to Medvet in Akron, OH to see if the large mass could be removed and save his life. Within 10 minutes Dr at Medvet diagnosed a ruptured CCL for the limp and a fatty lipoma for the mass and said it was not affecting anything internally and shouldn't be worried about. In disbelief we had an Ultrasound performed, all of his organs were healthy. The doctor and Radiologist at Medvet looked at Albion's X-rays and could find no internal mass! Human's make mistakes, but 3 mistakes in 3 visits that could have cost a perfectly healthy dog his leg and possibly his life is unacceptable. When we spoke to Albion they did admit mistakes were made and did refund us roughly half of the money that we spent. We shutter to think if we would have followed Albion's advice. While they did give treatment options, if the diagnosis is wrong then those options would be wrong as well. We are currently scheduled to have his surgery for the knee in Akron and he will not ever be returning to Albion...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe unfortunately had to say goodbye to our pup Shay on July 11th this year. Shay contracted Lyme disease and it went after her kidneys. A week after her diagnosis we knew we needed to perform the last great kindness for our girl. Everyone at the center was wonderful but Dr Imbur helped make a breathtakingly painful time as gentle as it could possibly go. When the time came Dr Imbur held the needles cupped in her hand. We knew exactly what was going to happen but whether for Shay, or us, or both, she didnāt let the medical side overshadow the goodbye. She knelt on the ground and openly wished she could get rid of every tick. The week before, Dr Imbur took the time to make sure any and all testing was necessary and would give us the best chance at figuring out what was wrong with our girl. She really cared about every aspect. Itās so incredibly hard to lose a member of the family. We have the shortest amount of time with them and it doesnāt ever feel like it was long enough. Probably because itās never enough time. Veterinarians like Dr Imbur who mourn along with you make the pain a little more bearable. Albion Animal Center is full of truly good humans who you meet as soon as you open the door. The front desk girls are absolute sweethearts and when I went to pick up Shays ashes they gave their heartfelt apologies for our loss. They truly care about your furry, scaly, or fleshy, babies. We will miss our girl forever but are grateful for kind hearts who make goodbye feel...
