Today, Shumake Electric replaced the outdated generator that was at our home when we purchased it. This was a flawless and stress free visit from start to finish. Jim Shumake came out to the house and sat down with me and did a generator sizing review. We discussed the pros and cons of going larger and going smaller and we ultimately followed Jim's recommendation of a 26KW unit. He had very fair upfront pricing and explained exactly what the next steps were going to be. True to his word, 9-10 weeks after signing our contract, he called and scheduled our install. That install happened today. His crew arrived on time, in company branded trucks and branded clothing. They did a walk through of the way the day was going to go and from the get go, you could just see the experience level of the installers. They treated our home like it was Jim Shumake's home. They were very friendly, had strong communication skills, had senses of humor and worked diligently. At the end of the day, they reviewed that the generator was connected to our WiFi, that we were given the keys, all manuals and let us know the day and time the generator would do its weekly exercise. My wife asked them to adjust when they have the unit exercise as we are used to hearing it on a certain day and time. The technician said, "No problem" and he went and changed it. There are a lot of companies out there and you could probably find someone else for a couple hundred dollars less, but a generator is an important investment for your home. Most major insurance companies, especially Cincinnati Insurance give a hefty discount for having one at your home. We recently engaged Shumake Electric for the purchase and installation of a 18KW whole house generator. We could not have been more pleased with the professional and courteous manner that was extended to us throughout the process. From the initial survey of what we would require, how much it would cost, how long it would take and the benefits and protection we would receive were explained (a couple more than once 😀) in language we could understand. All of our questions were answered and we were encouraged to contact the company with any questions or concerns. There were follow-ups through the process so we always knew what was going on. When installation day arrived, the team was on site at the scheduled time and their ability to work together in tight spaces, able to help each other when needed but never in each other's way was amazing. They worked quickly and efficiently and were able to provide a couple of aesthetic changes that I wanted - these added to their work a bit but the finished project was exactly what we wanted. They showed us how everything worked, registered the generator for us and helped with getting the warranty and software app process started. All in all the process was exceptional. We got the product and protection we needed at a fair price and the Shumake Electric team had our interests and desires at the forefront throughout. Thanks to Shumake Electric for installing a new Generec generator and a job well done. First off, Jim is an outstanding guy. Very nice gentleman upon meeting him for the first time. On the day of installation, his crew of three couldn't of been anymore respectful and courteous. Very well spoken, very clean, and extremely smart and answered any of my questions happily during the install. I found Jim thru my neighbors who held him to high regards. Shumake has a very good reputation and I can see why, and, he has to do the most generator installs of anyone around. Thanks again Jim and team for a job well done. A note on the generator itself. It's amazing the sense of relief and security you get after this thing is installed and live. Ours was installed right before Christmas 2022 when we got that horrible cold snap and winds, and the sense of relaxation it provided knowing if the power were to go out on Christmas, we would be kept warm and business as usual.
