i went to this hobby lobby to buy several of the sectional picture frames and some other framing material just before noon.
The lady in front of me in line had requested the cashier to exchange several small items. The cashier called over a manager. The manager first yelled rudely at the cashier for not putting something in a log book and then started barking other orders at her in a condescending way that was obviously making both the cashier and the lady in front of me uncomfortable.
The lady customer then told the manager "please help the gentleman behind me first' he only has a couple items and it seems like this will take some time..." which was super nice! but then...
The manager didn't even look up from whatever she was doing with the cashier (which was apparently the MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE UNIVERSE) and quickly and loudly said "NO SHE IS GOING TO DO THIS NOW"...(referring to the cashier...).)
The entire time, the manager acted as if the customers in the store were totally invisible.
I put all my items down on the counter and left immediately. I don't need picture framing stuff that bad.
I went home and purchased sectional frames online and I purchased the plastic spacer material (which Hobby Lobby charges an ASTRONOMICAL price for) also ....FOR LESS$$
Hey Hobby Lobby: remember that you sell goods that are essentially a luxury in economic terms? You don't sell gasoline, water, groceries etc. You sell stuff people DON'T NEED IN ORDER TO SURVIVE.
I would think that would merit a rather concentrated focus on customer care and some type of attention to the general attitude of the people you hire.... But I guess not.
If I ever have to go to a Hobby Lobby again it definitely will not be this one. This manager needs some basic customer service training.
Moreover, the whole enterprise needs a facelift. Entire store seemed like a 1970's era dept....
Read moreLove this store because it has my supplies here. However, everything is priced differently- as in same items priced different $$—weird huh? Also, there is always a tremendous line. Always. What makes it frustrating is the store doesn’t seem that busy until you go to get in the giant line while there’s a plethora of employees gossiping in the aisles around the store—usually talking ‘ish about another coworker- I actually find their convos to be quite entertaining 😛—while only 1 or 2 workers are at the registers. Today, I watched a dude walk out with his merchandise w/out going to the register (so essentially shoplifting-I say “essentially” due to the fact he threw a 20 on the ground on the way out the doors!) bcuz he was fed up of waiting in the line! To be fair, it was taking way way longer than it should’ve and everyone was getting Antsy and a couple customers bailed their shopping carts and left… I was almost one of them. I’m going to give this place a break for a bit and see if they fix this issue in a...
Read moreCashier forgot to demagnetize my daughters robot kit and the employee came up to us and I informed her it was probably her bag with the robot , she grabbed the bag from my child without asking in a very rude manner and walked away to demagnetize it. She could have asked my daughter politely for bag and she would have handed it to her. There was no need for the lady to grab it from her without asking. I called to talk to the store manager and was put in touch with one of the assistants. He said he would talk to the employee but it didn't seem he took the matter seriously and just gave the scripted apology. I have been going to hobby lobby since I can remember but after this I'm really contemplating returning items purchased and just not go back. Very disappointed. I hope they redirect and train this employee better. This is unexceptionable behavior from a grown women...
