This has been my worst experience in a medical facility for prenatal care. It originally took me almost two months to obtain my initial appointment in this office following the referral I was given from my PCP. When I finally got an appointment the doctor kept asking me why it took so long for an appointment. I let Dr. Fekry know the problematic process which had nothing to do with me, but the fact that the office staff never called back and continued to give me the unclear run around for the delay. When I finally had an initial appointment it was understood that the start of my care would be in that office and I would be referred to another Dr. who could handle my status of "high risk". This referral did not happen until almost 3 months later Oct 23 and I was sent 35 miles to a clinic who told me I would then need to pay them an undisclosed amount for my appointment which would range between $300-$500 or more depending on what was required for that visit. I was not informed by anyone that I was now required to pay for new medical care in advance and have not had any further prenatal care from the Dr office Dr. Fekry referred me to nor Dr. Fekry. Following the unclear communication from both offices I called my insurance provider to get guidance on further steps to take on my end, because they were not sure how this office would send me from the Obstetrics care and how the referral refused to see me as a patient. I also called Dr. Fekry office for clarity and guidance and what to do because they sent me to a place uninformed and also not properly covered and I was then told they sent me to the only place to go and it was no longer anything they could do because they could not see me by law.
So, if this is the case by law they should have never continued to see me after my initial appointment and giving me a balance to pay for my treatment. I know I have been completely disregarded and mishandled by this whole "practice" and experience I will be forced to take further action "by law" in the near future for the sake of my health and my current...
Read moreI had hope for the "Hope Clinic" after my first visit. The facility was close to home and the medical center that Dr. Fekry delivered at was closer than the TMC, but I found myself disappointed.
I attended one meeting with Dr. Fekry for an ultrasound to determine pregnancy status. The service was nice, Dr. Fekry was professional and courteous. He really did seem nice and genuine. I would have stayed with this practice, but there were a couple of red flags:
Dr. Fekry knew this was my 3rd pregnancy, third child. Each pregnancy may be dofferent, but i did not need a 30 minute lecture on why i should not pet my cats or eat sushi. That bit was a waste of time.
He suggested i not run the half marathon i had been training for all year, and said that i should not let my heart rate go above 140, which is an old-fashioned practice. My body is well equipped and used to the running, and there is no reason not to continue exercising even through the first semester. Especially considering i had zero complications with my first two children during pregnancy.
Dr. Fekry PRESCRIBED 3 things--vitamin B6, Unisom, and a designer prenatal vitamin that insurance would not cover... and the total came to over $200--two of which were over the counter. If youre going to send a prescription to a pharmacy, it should be a legitimate PRESCRIPTION, like Zofran or Phenergan. Not vitamin B6. And OTC prenatal vitamins are perfectly fine unless I'm low in iron, which they did no blood work to find out. Just unnecessary.
I called to speak to the nurse 4 times over the span of 2 weeks regarding these prescriptions, and the nurse didn't answer even one time or return my messages. I felt that i had given a sufficient amount of time for a returned call and decided that If i cannot be in contact with the medical staff of the practice that will be delivering my child, then i need to change my OB/GYN.
Sort of disappointing. I hope others have a...
Read moreVery disappointed. The first time I went I was disappointed, then went again a few times and it was good service. The last appointment I went to, I was supposed to be referred to sleep study and never got a follow up call on that. I called and they were still working on it and never called me back. I try to get an appointment and they never have any available right away, always a month or more before thereâs availability. Today I called and the lady that answered me couldnât understand my year so after 3rd time I tell her digit by digit and she gets frustrated and tells me âwait, youâre giving me different birthdays!â I told her âno, Iâm giving you the same one you just didnât understand me.â She gives me appt, I receive email confirmation and notice it was a different location than the one I go to. So I call back and get the same lady. I told her if I can change locations and she asks me why. That Iâve been to the Corporate location before. I told her âno, iâve only been to Aldine location.â She gets smart with me and says, âok. Youâve been to Corporate a few times, but ok!â I told her, â no, Iâve driven to my appointments and I know itâs the Aldine location. Iâve never been to Corporate.â She says â yes you have.â Seriously!! That upset me. I know which location Iâve been to and itâs never been Corporate! I just told her to cancel my appointment. Iâm tired of not being able to get an appointment when I need it and having to deal with that kind of attitude...
