I want to start by stating the unit itself was clean however although recently remodeled the only changes were with the kitchen and upstairs master bath. The Banister railings were sticky problem when you have elderly and kids who need to use the railings at all times. Plenty of room ,however misleading in fact listings states 2 King beds on 2nd level where actually there are 2 kings but one on the main and 1 on the second level inconvenient because the placement of the beds was a key factor in making our decision to rent this space. Also listing states that there are flat screens in every room, that is not the case there wasn't a tv in the 3rd bedroom on the 2nd floor, however there was one in the 3rd level but we didn't need that level or use it. This property was misrepresented in areas that really mattered for my family. MAJOR Problem we arrived in the evening around 8ish and the instructions for entry gave a key pad code, however the front door doesn't have a key pad the back door does. That should have been in the instructions it was dark and raining really hard so imagine not knowing how to get into your rental about 45 min later finally someone from the management office called me back to tell me that the key pad is actually at the back door. on another street how would we know this, VERRY Inconvenient and unacceptable small IMPORTANT Detail. The bathroom on the 2nd floor shower had a very slow drain and tub/shower needs replacing its old and has stains that are permanent. This made all of us use the other two bathrooms, but having individual bathrooms was another reason we chose this unit. WORST part and most inconvenient. Last day of our trip we accidentally locked the bottom lock of door however not realizing that if you locked it you cannot open it even the instructions outside the door don't mention anything about not locking the bottom lock, if management had checked this unit prior to renting they would hace discovered this in fact Guest should actually ONLY be able to use Keypad to lock door . Called management company at 3:30 PM and no response until almost 5 PM. Come to find out the owners were suppose to remove the lock and replace with a dummy lock and management company had no idea that they had an additional lock with a key on the door. We were locked out of the unit for 4 hrs. Not to mention my dad is diabetic 85 yrs old and all of his medicine and nutrients are in the house and car keys so we are at the mercy of the management company they were unable to get to us until 7:30 PM, VERYYYY Unacceptable they said they would send us a$50 gift card that was an insult and I explained that to them as well said the would speak to manager and we have yet to hear back. I made another call to management company upon my arrrival back home they didn't sound very apologetic I actually had to call twice and the response was "well we triedto come by before you checked out to give you a bottle of wine and $100 giftcard but you had checked out so I said what time did you come they said 11:30 I said check out is at 12 what did you think" So they promised to put it in the mail its 8/30 and still nothing. Bottom line s management company should have come to visit this property prior to renting to ensure that the lock was changed so this wouldn't happen and didn't not shows me they only cared about getting the listing not customer service. Upon renting property they sent all this paperwork to sign away your life almost like buying a house a bunch of waivers and do's and don'ts holding you responsible for everything and the customer service doesn't match the expectations they hold the customers responsible for. I will come back to this area of the Panhandle but not from a listing from this management company for sure. The servicer provided was unacceptable...
Read moreWe arrived after driving 16 hours to 30A cottages - Pelican Watch and was eager to check out our home for the week. Found hair all over the couch, dirty spots on the white couch, floors looked untouched...definitely not impressed. Called and texted property management Sat night (didn't hear from them until 9AM the next day). They offered to send someone to clean but I had already done it and I didn't want a stranger in the house. I had to clean the couches and all three floors before my little kids were covered in dust bunnies, crumbs, sand and hair. Master bedroom had mold around the faucet (had to clean that too), the same sink is leaking. Cobwebs are on every light fixture and lamp. No vacuum in home (in home vac was broken). The rug in the family room needs to go - it leaves "straw" on every article of clothing and it makes a mess of the house. The master bedroom rug has stains all over it and needs to go as well. Porches need a good sweep and cleaning as well. Overall the house needs a deep clean and a handy man (you can start by fixing the vacuum, all the doors to the patios (they don't lock) and dryer). There are so many things that need fixing (reach out if you would like my list). We paid a premium for this cottage for this week of Spring Break and were honestly very disappointed all around. The location is ideal - in the middle of Seacrest and Rosemary and just a short walk to the beach/pool. Pool says it's heated but it was still VERY cold and dirty. We loved that the rental came with bikes - we used them a lot! We drive a Yukon Denali XL and it did not fit in the garage. We ended up leaving a day early since we were so unsatisfied. Read moreThis house and location were great!! The beds were comfy and the place was clean! The only reason I’m leaving a 3 star review instead of 5 is because of the hot tub not working and the response I received when I inquired about it. It was early May when we rented which means the pool was still cold and the ocean had double red flags up the entire time we were there. I realize this is not controllable but also realized when we booked that it may still be chilly so glad this place had a hot tub! Well the hot tub did not work.. as in the water was not any different from the cold, cold pool water. I called management day 2 of being there and was told someone would be sent out to fix it… when no one showed up I called again and was given an excuse that this was part of the “heated pool package” that was not offered at the property… which I’m sorry is BS bc it was advertised as a working hot tub. Just tell me it doesn’t work- bc it doesn’t work!!! There was nothing else offered then an oh well, sorry! We tried everything and even called a pool guy we knew personally to try to fix over the phone. The company never even sent someone out to look at it. Only told us that they had contacted the owners and they weren’t willing to pay for it. If we had known it did not have a working hot tub we would have not booked the property, being from MS I am aware that pools and the ocean are still very cold in early May. A huge disappointment.
