A summary of our recent stay:
After a 6.5 hour drive, we received a call from our adult children 30 minutes from our arrival at 48 Geoff Wilder. They called to tell us of the deplorable condition of our vacation homeâŚthe home that we chose based on your website description. The photos didnât reflect how run down the furniture was and your service standards are not what you claim them to be.
This is the list compiled by us and a supervisor from Royal Destinations.
*front door lock and handle hanging on by a screw, which we had to repair
*brown drips and smudges on walls in foyer, we wiped the walls down and removed the stains
*large, uninviting stain on foyer rug
*first floor master-sand and hair on comforter, potato chips on floor and in the bed, shoe foot prints on shower floor, liquid foundation on bathroom
counter top, brown drips on front of cabinets and walls around toilet, toilet handle broken
*first floor queen-sand and hair in beds, hair on pillows and comforters
*going up the stairs, large brown liquid spot on wall trim and what appeared to be soda splattered on wall, we cleaned
*kitchen trash can lids covered in food, dirty dishes in cabinets
*living room rug covered with sand, all of the glass doors and windows had hand and face prints on them
*outside table with food and sticky drink spills
*bunk room bed with smudged handprints on sides of beds and food and hair on ladders
*bunk bathroom shower curtain had liquid foundation on shower curtain
*upstairs master comforter covered with stains, sheets put on upside down with tag at top center, comforter completely unusable due to large amount of hair, hair on pillows
*dryer filter was broken and sitting on shelf, a fire hazard and couldnât dry our close properly, the supervisor said it had been broken for a while
*water damage on many walls, a terrible look for a rental, said the owner knew about the issue, but didnât feel like fixing it
*we asked that the pool heater be turned on, after 24 hours we called back and finally someone was sent
We could not believe that the same crew that did not clean the house, was coming back. It was incredibly uncomfortable for us and them. They were unable to clean because of the number of cigarette breaks they were taking.
The clean linens in their car we under a filthy vacuum and smelled of cigarette smoke. There was also a baby left in the car and one of the workers looked to be around 14 years old. We asked them to leave and we took on the duty of cleaning the house, as it was clear that it wasnât going to be cleaned well. The supervisor agreed that they werenât cleaning, but said they were âgood peopleâ.He also told us that the reason the beds were dirty was because they place the comforters on the floor when they change the sheets.
Our vacation arrival was ruined. We never got the exciting walk through the front door because Royal Destinations simply did not do their job. My family was up until midnight cleaning and spent $90+ on cleaning supplies. We spent a day and a half cleaning, being disappointed, and trying to get settled.
We were told by an administrative employee that we would be generously compensated and we believed her. We thought Royal Destinations was going to do the right thing, but they did not. They offered a refund of the cleaning charges, which we declined, as they asked us not to post any negative reviews if we excepted the refund.
Do yourselves a favor and not only look at the house reviews, but also look at the management company reviews.
