I hate to be THAT guy, because I know this review doesn't ring completely consistent with everyone's 5/5 reviews, but I went into Day2 for the first time today (after a failed attempt thinking the location was somewhere else) and I was greeted by a room full of snacks and a smiling face at the front desk! I walked in and explained I've never been and have no clue what I'm looking at but asked to be pointed towards Magic the Gathering and he was in-between showing off displays and explaining the moves the owners made (per my original location confusions lol) and someone (I think his supervisor) interrupted my questions and told him that he had urgent work that needed to be done and attended to immediately. He didn't wait until my question was answered or even show interest in the fact I was being helped IN THAT MOMENT. So mid question he gets pushed away from me which is understandable, there's work to do, I just feel this could of been handled much better from the 'supervisor'
After starring off and digesting what had happened, I said to the supervisor, "I wish you wouldn't of yelled at him, he was in the middle of answering questions and helping me." that's when the supervisor clapped back with "I didn't yell at him, but if it made you uncomfortable you're more than welcome to leave" so I did. right after I got to the giant display of MTG decks (I was originally looking for but didn't get to, because the assistant couldn't get that far) and saw an amazing selection, one of the best in town. It had budget decks, top of the line table ruining decks and everything in-between. I defiantly recommend this shop for its growing and pretty impressive selection (and tables upon tables behind the main desk that I didn't get to ask about) I just think the way this situation was handled made me question the ethics behind work culture and the importance of customer relations. I'm going to keep my review at 4/5 and that's solely because of my original interaction with the first employee who went out of his way to make my questions not feel like too much, people like him make it easier for newcomers to feel welcomed and...
Read moreThis shop is ran by gamers for gamers. They are rarely short on any product they carry across multiple games. Ordering card singles is a breeze and they will let you know if it will take some time to pull and they also will come find you on the gameroom floor so you don't have to stand and wait at the counter. They love to bring new games to the area. Id have not gotten invested into Union Arena or the Gundam TCG if not for their support. The atmosphere encourages casual, friendly play and don't cater to the pub-stomp, hyper competitive types. They also have dedicated nights for their popular play groups, including a cEDH night. I rarely 5 star review, but i absolutely will here. Also shout out to Kyle, Chaz, Willow, Tyler, Matt, and of course, Dan. Wouldn't have gotten back into the TCG world if not for what you guys...
Read moreI've been looking for pokemon cards everywhere with no luck, until I found this place called Day2 Cards and Games. They have a great selection of pokemon cards to buy from. They also have an excellent Discord where they update every week about their product. The best thing in my opinion about this place is that they have limits on special booster boxes. This allows more people to be able to get a hold of coveted products. After all walmart and other big retailers will let scalpers buy all their products leaving non for the rest of us. However, this place is a gem in Amarillo for having the needs of their clients come first instead of money. These limits allows for more people like me to have a chance of getting booster boxes at a...
