Donut Stop — Restaurant in Amarillo

Best donuts in town. Really the only donuts in town. Nobody can see the little guys in the shadow of this local giant. Donut Stop even ran Krispy Kreme of town. It took all of a month and the locals had spoken. Just as quickly as Krispy Kreme opened it's doors it seemed they closed them and left town. Donut Stop has been the place for donuts as far back as I can remember. There's never been another place like it or to even compete. The donuts are good and the variety is even better. From regular donuts of all flavors to cinnamon twists and cake donuts, cream filled, fruit filled, or even donut holes. You just can't go wrong. Get there early and get them fresh. Had donuts here for the first time and it’s pretty subpar. Got the buttermilk donut and it had no glaze, to be fair the worker did mention they didn’t have it. But it’s not that glaze makes the donut good, it’s that it was burnt to a crisp and I could really swallow a lot of grease with it no milk needed. Had the Apple fritter and still tasted very greasy but it was better in terms of flavor. To be honest not sure if I’ll come back I feel like first impressions leave a lot and my experience wasn’t too great. Came to grab donuts this morning. Online said they open at 5:30 am, our flight left at 7:30. We made our way over and when we arrived we ended up waiting at the window for several minutes just watching employees walk right passed us at the window and continue about their work. Rolling dough talking and completely ignored us at the drive up window. We waited from 5:45-6:05 am with no service at all. Highly unprofessional and rude not to even greet the customers, much less take our order. We won’t ever recommend this Donut stop location to anyone.
