Waffle House — Restaurant in Amarillo

I did not eat here. I couldn't bring myself to even sit down. When I walked up to the door I noticed a cloud of cigarette smoke looming in the entire building. When I walked in I saw that everybody in the place was smoking, including the cook. My eyes started watering and I think I started to get cancer. I was completely disgusted. I told the waitress, who was nice enough, I changed my mind about eating here, it was a little too smokey for me. The patrons, who were all smoking, all stopped eating and just stared at me as I walked out never taking their eyes off me until I was out of sight around the corner. If you smoke, this is a great place to do it I guess. I don't think it's a good idea to allow smoking in such a small building. I'm positive the smoke has permeated every orifice of the building penetrating whatever food is within... It's a big...

Restaurant was filthy. Service was horrible. We had to ask for our drinks 3 times. Had to reach over to get our own silverware because our server kept getting distracted. Food was the worst we’ve ever had at a WH. Asked to have my bacon re-cooked twice because they kept burning it. They’d put the bacon press on it and burn the middle and the ends were raw. Drip trays for waffle makers were full. Workers looked dirty and sloppily dressed with shoes untied, shirts untucked and pants hanging off. The garbage can tipped over and instead of picking it up, they kicked it out of the way. There were frying pans with egg still stuck to it in with the clean ones. The women’s bathroom door was filthy and the door would close or lock all the way. I had to have my son lean against it so I could go to the bathroom. I wish I could give...

Placed a $50 carry out order. There was a minor miscommunication with the order, which is totally understandable for a phone order. I ordered 4 sandwiches on biscuits and they were made on white bread in error. Instead of asking for the food to be remade completely, I asked for 4 biscuits and i would reassemble at home. The employee immediately got defensive and rude, explained how I was wrong, and said that I’d need to pay for the biscuits. She charged me $5 for her mistake and made a big deal out of a really minor issue. I’ve never received such horrible service. It’s a shame, the food was mediocre on top of it, but I wouldn’t have bothered to leave a review if she wasn’t so rude and short sighted to treat a customer like this.
