Meijer — Local services in Amber Township

I had to make an account to actually create this review. I felt like the treatment at the self checkout center today was completely unreasonable, and rude. Me and my girlfriend, worked from 4am to around 2pm today, went to bed and woke up around 7. I decided that I wanted to go buy alcohol, it’s our weekend and just wanted to enjoy it. During our self checkout, we were both accused of being drunk, how? I’m not entirely sure as we both haven’t drank in about 2 months at this time of purchase. "You both reek of alcohol" "We’ve been at work and slept all day?" "Sure you have" then rolled her eyes at us. Amazing customer service, the manager came by and basically refused us anyways, per policy. Look we didn’t care about being refused of service, Walmart gladly took our money and didn’t find us "drunk". But to insult my girlfriend with comments and rude gestures was completely uncalled for. Manager did mention she was going to have a conversation with her, and I sorta doubt she will to be honest. Just something I sorta wanted to put out there, next time you shop at Meijer and want alcohol. I please advise you to bring a breathalyzer at the time of...

This store is not a bad place really however some days associates can be really rude. I realize not everyone has a good day, but it would be nice to have a nice greeting here and there you know to let us know we do matter. I know they matter to me, the hard work they put in especially when cashiers don't really get good pay like teachers and nurses police offices and all those factory workers who bust their behind to try and make ends meet in this tough economy. People still struggle to get by every now and again I purchase the groceries for someone put of kindness not out of pity. People need to be friendlier and share a smile or a thank you. I struggle just like anybody else out there but being nice to another person is an awesome feeling. Work as a team and bring the joy. That other person could be me needing that kind gesture. Makes shopping more fun even if you are just out to buy milk, bread or eggs. Would...

Re: Returns

I Went to Meijer today to return a product. The Product was unable to be returned for full price without a receipt so I elected not to return it. I asked the clerk at the customer service desk to leave a note on the product so I could pick it up after I checked out. When I return to the customer service desk I was questioned if the product was mine and if I Could produce a receipt?

The reason I had the clerk leave a note on the product was to avoid this! Had the lady that helped me not been at the customer service desk what with the situation have led to? Definitely not favorable for the customer! There needs to be a system in place to avoid situations like this in the future. Very unprofessional and could have been avoided.
